Secondary linemans rope?

What are you guys using for a secondary linemans rope? I was thinking of trying to use 3/4 inch webbing/strap that electricians use for pulling cable but unsure how to make the one end adjustable.

Amsteel whoopie sling was my back up this year. I made an amsteel daisy chain this week thinking of trying that as back up.

You want lightest weight... 1 tether/lineman’s and 1 amsteel back up.

I did it twice beginning of season and then my new tether came in. Thinking of doing same again since I just picked up rappel stuff.

Use backup for limbs and at hunting height to switch lineman to a tether.

No need to use a second LB when attaching to tether. Just install tether, hook in, test, and remove LB.
you guys want to be light and not have a bunch of crap in your pouches, extra gear is just extra gear.

Agreed but I was saying drop the lineman all together. Have 2 ropes. 1 that you use for both tether and lineman’s rope and the 1 “backup” amsteel for staying connected at all times to disconnect around limbs or transfer it from a lineman to a tether.

I see. So it’s not really a backup, it’s your primary lineman’s lanyard

Yeah sorry could of used better “phrasing”. This is my idea for rappelling too just instead of 8’ rope it will be 30’.

Repelling on AmSteel?

Haha no!! Replace my HTP rope in pic with my 30’ oplux. And use same amsteel daisy chain to assist around limbs.

The htp rope was both my lineman’s and my tether.
