Secret tethrd stick used while one sticking

Gotcha. I thought maybe it was one of those hang around sticks modified.

Great video. I one stick both up and down. I kinda feel going down is easier. Need to try rappelling down but have to carry a bunch more rope and don’t feel it would be worth it except it’s definitely faster

Me too. I’m really debating rappelling down but I really don’t want to carry 30+ feet of rope.

Does not look appealing to me. Well made video and I know it’s a lot faster once everything becomes second nature to you, but there is a lot of little things going on that I rather not deal with in real world situations; like in the dark, fighting vines, water on the ground, knotted up trees, branches, undoing a screw link to get around branches. I want the fiddle factor with my gear minimized as much as possible because you have no control over the fiddle factor that nature gives you.

Get some Oplux. It’s 100% worth it.

I find the fiddle factor is less but I don’t climb with a rappel line. I use my tether. No sticks to organize and keep quiet.
One stick to focus on.

The appeal is minimal gear to pack. It’s hard to beat just carrying a platform, aider, & rope.

Dark is a non-issue.
This method doesn’t work on viney or extremely limby trees.
In swamp areas I’ll just climb back down to keep my rope dry. Definitely not rappelling cool, but it’s less effort & time than going up.

This method probably has more fiddle factor while climbing, but way less on the packing, transport phase. It not the prefect method for all situations or cover/terrain conditions but it has it’s place.

This is a great video for anybody considering the one stick/rappel down process and the related gear needs. After @boyne bowhunter posted his six minute timed to 20' one stick climb and rappel down video a few months ago, I contacted EWO and DanO gave me some gear options to consider. This video shows that gear in action and for anyone considering implementing rappelling down into their setups, this video really puts things in perspective.

Great video... thats a keeper! Nice work as usual with the filming/editing Garrett @bowhunter15
The whole package.
I started making climbing videos recently and so I am keenly aware of editing to remove the problems encountered during the climb. I would rather see them. No one is perfect, except if their actions are edited.
