I think it appears to grip the tree though far better. I have quite a few bucksteps. Is it just me or does that stick look just about exactly like the old summit bucksteps?

When that stick is for sale I'm going to amsteel & soft shackle the $#! + out of it.
Seriously though, I hope it's going to be a cam cleat attachment set up. Can't wait to see the final product, it would check all the boxes for me, double step, fixed, short, cam cleat, a little real estate on the top. Good job team Tethrd!
I'd love to do a comparison on some different stick/platform options! It looks like the platform on the Tethrd stick has the largest available foot room of the three. However, due to the standoff (on your stick of choice) the Scout could/would give you equal foot clearance away from the tree, just not actual room to place your whole foot on. The Artisan appears to have the smallest platform and it's designed to go over the top of the standoff so you'd be loosing some platform room and foot clearance from the tree which could force you to stand with your feet on an angle. It looks like a great stick and good job Tethrd.
The EWO stick with an added cam cleat and scout/ and or an artisan outdoors platform checks all those boxes now.
It would interesting to see @MADhunts do a comparison. It looks like there may be more platform and lighter weight to the secret stick.

Maybe one of these? https://htoutdoor.com/products/hang-around-sticks
Dat price tag??? 400 for a set?
Y’all are over thinking this. Just get the scout stick platform and some EWO Standoffs and be done.
Did you talk to them and get this price cause I couldn't find a single stick on their site?It looks like one stick is 6 pounds and 35 inches. It looks similar to the tethrd stick. Cut in half would reduce the weight. Do you have any of these sticks. A DIY project might be interesting.
The whole system looks heavy but the stick platform is interesting

One thing to mention is "the secret stick" has matching platform/steps on top and bottom. I actually prefer hunting off the bottom of mine. I can throw one foot up on the top to change it up. If I hunt of the bottom and can also get up on the top to get a different shot angle if a limb is in my path.It looks like a great stick and good job Tethrd.

I think Carl is the same. I'm the oddball lol.One thing to mention is "the secret stick" has matching platform/steps on top and bottom. I actually prefer hunting off the bottom of mine. Practicing on straight limbless trees in my backyard had me walking in the deer woods like a boss until I hit actual nature at work
...samesiesGreat video. I one stick both up and down. I kinda feel going down is easier. Need to try rappelling down but have to carry a bunch more rope and don’t feel it would be worth it except it’s definitely faster

Well that sucks!!! Thank you for putting the effort into checking on this!No I divided by 5.
I did speak to them. Here is what was written , basically we are not interested in that market presently.
First of all, we are big fans of the saddle movement. For the Hang & Hunt style of hunting, we prefer it to climbers actually.
And secondly, we don't do a very good job of providing our high-performance gear to the public land guy at this point. Nothing we offer at this point is designed for that style of hunting.
We are finalizing our own version of a "lifeline" and 2 different "Hunting" harnesses. But we don't believe in launching products until they've been fully tested and perform to our high standards.
So for the saddle hunting crowd, the Hang & Hunt people, the best we will have any time soon will be our lifelines and hunting harnesses. Those will complement our work positioning system for tree stand installations and maintenance, the Belt. It's very similar to what some saddle hunters use, but it's not intended for hunting purposes.
We do have saddle hunters who use our Sticks where they are able to leave those on trees. But we don't believe in cam buckles on round surfaces like trees. So all of our tree stands and sticks are held in place with ratchets. They simply do not slip. At all.
Thank you for the question. Good luck out there and be safe.
