Seek One + Hunt Urban Masterclass

What could they really teach you? Be rich and get permission to hunt rich peoples backyards? Put out tons of deer feeders and game cameras? Don’t have a job and hunt 24/7?

EDIT: I like these guys and watch their stuff. It’s entertaining. Just like the THP class, I think buying internet hunting courses is a shameless ripoff that won’t make you a better hunter.
It's not all about what I can learn from them, though I do think I can learn a decent bit; part of it is about supporting them for all the free (yet highly entertaining and valuable) content they put out. I liken it to buying their merch. Granted, I haven't pulled the trigger at the price tag they've put on this thing, but that's a different discussion.

Oh yeah I definitely get that. If they had came out with something like a premium subscriber only video series I wouldn’t be salty at all at them. The way they’ve marketed this is if you buy it you’ll kill big bucks. That ain’t true

I understand that not ever "masterclass" or "course" is going to be worth the money but there's plenty of awesome info out there that hunters pay for everyday. Dan Infalt's hunting beast DVDs, his in-the-field workshops, John Eberhart's workshops, etc. I learned a ton from the hunting beast DVDs. Learning from others doesn't replace learning from your personal experiences in the woods but it does shorten the learning curve over all (especially for those of us who don't have a ton of time to put into the woods).

There's no doubt that the Seek One guys have a good system for Urban Hunting. The most valuable thing (in my opinion) is their pitch in getting access to properties. There are some other nuances they've noticed when it comes to deer movement/tactics in urban environments but their pitch is the most valuable in my opinion.

Yeah, I don't want to poo poo them as hunters or people. It's just a different animal altogether, what they're doing.

I've got countless books on deer and hunting, VHS/DVDs, an occasional magazine, etc. Some educational, others for entertainment. I'm sure many of us have spent much more than $200 on this kind of stuff.

Seek have a good range of topics covered, so this course aims at one stop shopping. But, I think there are more expert options on some of that stuff. In particular, I'd rather have word of mouth from wildlife biologists on certain topics. Not to invalidate their research and experience, but a lot of that stuff is going to be regurgitation.

Personally, I'd put my $200 in other pockets, or use for gear improvements. But, as I've said, there are worse ways to spend money.

The pitch is exactly what I am after! There will be other information that I know will help me also but I want to see the presentation points they pitch in their conversations with landowners. Not just a hunt urban but hopefully gain out-of-state access also if I’m hunting the Midwest.
The time that it takes to put all of the videos together & the effort they put into it is definitely worth $200 to me. If I can bring one thing away from this course that helps me tremendously… That is well worth $200 to me. If I consistently killed 130 and 140 inch bucks I wouldn’t even think about considering this course. I have killed 148” inch deer and I’m basically and meat Hunter anyway.
I just want to be a better Hunter and Dan Infalt & John will probably be my next stuff that I’ll look at before bow season next year.

Here's the SparkNotes. Urban deer have close to zero pressure if not zero, so mature bucks are going to be off guard and more likely to waltz around in broad daylight as long as you leave minimal scent on their trails/bedding areas. Grow a pair and ask homeowners if you can hunt off their back porch hiding up against the pool house. Its like the rejection game at the college bar scene...ask enough girls to come home with you and eventually one of them is gonna go for it. Start with the hottest one in the place and work your way down from there lol. Once you get used to people saying no it gets easier.
If you're willing to make it even easier throw a feeder back there. If this whole idea gets you razzed up then good for you. There...saved you a bunch of money. Now you are an urban hunting master.

I have shot bucks this way, minus the feeder. Its not even close to as satisfying as shooting a deer in big timber or public. Almost makes me feel guilty after i kill it. Add a corn feeder and to me its not even hunting anymore, its just killing a beautiful animal. I think some of the homeowners feel the same way when you drag it out by their reaction. Forget the lackadaisical hunting methods you might get used to while hunting backyards when you switch back to public or a lease that's had pressure.

to each his own of course, but i honestly cant stand the seek one dudes. Its only focused on antler inches. as far as millennial hunting channels... THP teaches you the stuff i like to see. Tradition, hard work, camping and havin fun in the woods.

I do understand/accept that for a lot of people this is the only feasible option to harvest a deer. Once you get a taste of hunting big woods or public though, its bittersweet. Kinda like getting this year's target buck with a xbow the only day you bring one out in 4 years cuz you lost your release during peak rut lol:rolleyes:

One of the few regrets I have is not doing wensels class when they had it. Smart guys.

Eberharts had me ponder but what new info is there.

Sturgis’s are (like John’s above) have to be the same old same old with putting out so much rhetoric content.

Higgins could be great- if I had that kind of farm and lived in the Midwest.

Did a Infalt one before the beast class. It was a good time and networking. Not sure I learned a ton.

Went to Lapratts back in the day. Outstanding for habitat stuff.

Went to the mobile hunters roadshow thing. Funish time but this one in particular didn’t have a ton of tactic discussion.

I've been doing a reduction hunt in a nature preserve for two years now. I haven't shot a doe on public in that time. I'm hoping I dont forget how to hunt them on public when the park people decide they've had enough of us hunting the preserve.

I won't lie and say I haven't ever been tempted by these. The only one I almost signed up for was the in person Dan Infalt scouting class where you actually walk around properties. But then I thought, he's in Wisconsin and I hunt 100 times thicker properties here in Tennessee so it probably won't translate very well. I decided just to commit to getting into the woods with ALL my spare time. I gave up all additional hobbies. Use to play drums: pause that. Used to play tennis: pause that. This all added up to 22 different scouting sessions for 2021 and 50 hunts. All these trips are usually only 2-4 hours cuz I live right next to a large WMA. Deciding to put down other things and just become a woodsman has helped me kill more deer than any of these classes could. This is just my opinion.

Dan’s DVD’s are by far the best on the market to learn from , but most of what he says on the dvds is on youtube if you look hard enough. Marsh and swamp dvd’s are imo pretty repetative info.
Farm and hills is great.
the best part from what ive found is that alot of the info from different terrains will relate or be similar to one another

With that said sadly Dan has kind of gotten away from the educational stuff a bit since he got into selling equipment.
If he does do something he kind of rambles and whispers.
the problem with a ton of the big whitetail groups is they pretty much hunt every single day snd if they are not hunting they are scouting so its a bit of an advantage.
Great info on those dvds though well worth the moneY

Jeff sturgis lost me in the public land challenge putting a blind up on public land in wide open woods with a trail camera. Lol
The Guy is very knowledgeable on super cushy habitat stuff, but i would never watch anything that guys says sbout high pressured public lol
Johnny carbon i love and dude is legit and i have much respect to him as he hunts a ton of high pressured properties and is successful doing it.
I doubt john hunts areas that are lottery chosen by a buddy or super low pressured public.
Theres always a selling point with most and thats fine but i honestly think that some of these guys are not telling everything that should be told.
Kind of holds back to keep people tuned in. That's fine but being around and seeing-how some of these influencers operate it makes me super skeptical

All the info you need to kill big bucks is already out there. You just have to apply it to your situation. A Master class to teach you their pitch is also not needed. Their pitch is probably all BS anyway. I'm sure they come up with alot of reasons why the landowner should let them bowhunt however when it comes down to it they probably are not saying the truth. " There's a monster buck in your back yard, and I wanna shoot it with a bow! Please, please please" However with that said, these guys are extremely hard working and put a lot of effort into finding these bucks, getting the permission and hunting them.

I guess the joke’s on me guys.. I paid them thru paypal on Monday, it cleared my account on Tuesday. They haven’t sent the first email of receipt or login info or anything.. There’s no contact number, so the only email response I’ve gotten is from there merchandise department, who gave me another email, that I haven’t gotten one reply from.
I’m glad I paid through paypal.. I should be able to dispute the charges if they don’t respond to me.

I’m pretty sure they are in Ohio chasing bucks and honestly I doubt they have progressed enough to automate order fulfillment. I would give them some time before going scorched earth.

I’d figured they’d have some office personnel to respond, lol. Definitely don’t expect a call from them. There IS someone available if I want to buy more merchandise, lol. She’s emailed me two or three times. She has tried to help, but that’s not her department.

I get it my man but they should really note that and not offer it until its 100% accessible.
Thrm offering something but not having the right personnel or equipment to make it happen is no-ones faults but thier own.
People want instant access to almost everything and if its not that should be well noted with at least a time frame.
this is the **** makes me super skeptical sbout these big influencer groups.

Exactly, you bought it to fit your timeframe. Unacceptable to not be able to access it right away. How much did it end up costing you? They seem like good guys i just think there is an almost infinite amount of free resources available now that are applicable to your own hunting situations and styles.

kinda off topic but... I love learning from new people but i always end up going back to THP. I dont know what it is about them but their info and entertainment really resonate with me. They take hunting seriously but they seem to show better than anyone else how much fun we're really having out there and how important sharing your experiences with others is for our mental health and well being (this forum is another way to do this for those who dont have the option of personally sharing with other or prefer to hunt alone).

The class is 199 right now or was that when I bought in. I like learning new stuff & the entertainment also. $200 to me is worth the time they put into what they do. However anyone else feels… That’s perfectly your business BUT they still havent allowed me into the course. Jokes probably on me anyway! I just said I will let you folks know..
I don’t have anything against them.. I just wish that they would let me in!
