Wondering if a consew 206rb with a clutch motor is worth it for $500.

From the pics it appears the table might need to be replaced or refinished. And was mentioned it had been sitting for awhile (not sure exactly what that means)

In good condition, I would say yes for RB3 through RB5. Tables are a couple hundred, servos can be had for about 100. You can get a table top only for about 100 from eBay.

My RB4 was sitting around and it took some time to get all loosened up (idle so long, the oil turned to varnish). Using kroil I was able to get it unstuck and working like a champ.

If the table needs replaced you may be able to talk the seller down, but you risk losing the purchase to someone who will spend the $500.

Here is a data point for you. An RB3 went up on FBMP for $500 on a Saturday morning. By Saturday at dinner time (when I first searched for the day) it was already sold.

Good luck.

I would not pay 500 for that. Maybe 300. But that is me.

Table top does not look bad at all to me, and from what I can see of the rest of the table, it looks like it should be OK.

Singer 211G156, $275, Middletown, NJ, motivated seller. Probably can get it for less.

Consew 206 RB-2, $500, Stamford, CT, FBMP

Any of you sewing machine guys know anything about this kind of sewing machine? My in-laws are looking to get rid of it. Not sure if it would be of any use to people on here or not.Screenshot_20230701-165821-234.png

Ive come across a few. Are they giving it away or selling? Id say if its free, its worth taking. If its for sale, Id pass as there are much better machines out there as parts are not readily available. Its a find another and salvage situation.

If it works, the free arm is a bonus.

Clone of consew 206rb-1 or 2, Joppa, MD, $400, looks like he needs to offload it quick. May get it for cheaper.

150$

Anyone have any experience/thoughts on these? Did a little YouTube and googling research, but would love some more input.

Unless you just absolutely love it or have a nostalgic connection, its not worth $150. You can get other machines for under $50 that will work just fine for the average stitcher. Look for 15-91s or save another $300 and pick up a lu-563 when you see one.
