Sewing Machine Deals for the DIY Guys

Hey fellas, thoughts on these two machines? Maybe links will work. One is a model 66-18, 1947 vintage and not sure on other one

Id stay away from the 66-18. The other one for $65 is a 15-91. The 15-91s are all I use, and have several of them - very good machine. Id offer $40 and see what happens. Rewiring them is pretty easy, and you can get kits for $15 if you dont want to make you own.

Singer and chandler sewing machines. Both walking foot with reverse.
Madison WI
$375 although I’m unsure if that’s for one, both or each.
I’m honestly surprised I’m not trying to buy these. If I had the room I certainly would.

I bought the 15-91, looks like a 1950 model. I’ll be trying to clean and lube it up soon. The pedal was not connected, and the wires for the light and motor are just hanging out. I found some diagrams, after some reading it sounds like I need to take motor off and clean it.

I have some that ive had to pull the motor, others I have not. All get new witing if they are brittle or exposed wires. PM me if you have any questions or need some help.

Pfaff $100 Tupelo, MS

Probably a good deal. It’s missing the foot.

Sailrite. LSZ-1 for $100 in Vineland, NJ

Sailrite Ultrafeed Industrial Sewing Machine

This appears to be quite the deal. If I didn’t already have double digit vintage domestics, a majority still not completely refurbished, and the CL is over 2 hours away, I would jump all over this one.

That is a nice machine. It is aluminum so is lightweight. I have the portable. I took it to a friend's house to alter a project I sewed for her.

And poof!!! Just like that, it is gone. My betting money is that bj139 is now fixing up a new to him vintage machine.

I knew it wouldn’t last long. At least I can rest now instead of picking it up and hiding it my garage.
