Sh1kar noise

This is my first year saddle hunting and decided on one sticking with a Sk1kar. I have practiced a lot and enjoy the method so that is not up for debate LOL. Is anyone else using a Sh1kar and experiencing noise when shifting their weight on it? It’s not bad while climbing, but when settled in, the teeth almost make a squeaking noise on the bark…both smooth and rough bark trees. I’m wondering if they are actually too aggressive and should be filed down a bit. If I take the rope off, the stick stays in place! I have a ring of steps that compliments the small platform. Worst case scenario I will just try to keep my feet off of the platform while hunting.

The Shikar’s have very sharp and aggressive I’ve teeth. I actually dulled my just a bit, especially the lower point. For me this seemed to allow them to set better. With the teeth so sharp, the stick would stick in before it would settle down when setting the stick.

I do from time to time, depending on the tree, get some noise for just a bit as the stick settles in. When setting my stick for the final position I try to pull out on the bottom and stand my full weight in the aider to really set it on the tree.

Thanks. I had actually reached out to Out on a Limb last night too and asked about grinding the teeth a bit. Matt replied this morning and suggested bow wax as well
