My slick trick broadheads have been in my archery tacklebox for about a year. They seem to have dulled a little bit. Is this sharpener OK to sharpen the broadheads with or is there one I should purchase?

I have that thing sitting in the bottom of my archery bag. That thing works OK not great. About as well as you would expect but it won’t take a butter knife dull head and make it razor sharp. It will put a decent finishing edge on a blade provided you took it to a stone or something coarser before hand.

Not sure how much you want to spend but I use KME broadhead shapener on my Slick Tricks. The gauge holds the perfect angle. I have been able to resharpen blades that were shot into the ground. Comes with multiple stones as well. Added a leather strop to the process to get them shaving sharp.

I've used course, medium, fine, and ultra fine stones to get a nice cutting head. I was worried about heads not spinning near as good, however they seem to be doing fine. I'm looking to add a leather strop to the mix and maybe some diamond stones. Its definitely nice to know you've saved at least 5-7 heads a year. Cuts the cost a touch.

6IN BASTARD FILE AND LEATHER STROP. I USE THIS METHOD ON MY MAGNUS STINGER AND IT GETS THEM SHARP!!!

I shoot Trick too. Is that normal for them to dull in the quiver? I've not really noticed mine dulling but I don't know of the best way to check them. I do know that new they are one of the sharpest I've handled......don't ask how I know. LOL

I shoot fixed Snuffers and check by skipping the edge across a thumnail. If it catches I use it

If you can find one of these (Li'l Shaver Broadhead Sharpener), I think you'll be very happy with it. I made and sold these for 25 years but quit because I was working too many hours at my real job... Works great for all 2 blade heads.

There are some major problems with free handing small blades like that. One of the biggest is keeping the same angle while sharpening them. I can sharpen a knife with the best of them free handed. I struggle with smaller blades, especially broadheads. Not all, but as a whole, most of them. I have been using a RADA sharpener for about 5-6 years for everything hunting related. I can get my broadheads back to shaving sharp in less than a minute almost everytime. I have sharpened Simmons bleeders, slick tricks, swhackers, rage, etc. They can all be sharpened with a RADA very easily once you know proper technique.

Although it is basically 2 wheels with a handle, it does take a little learning on how to do it. I made a video for some guys a few years back and put it on youtube. Several people have messaged me over the years talking about how well it has worked out for them. The best part? You can get 2 of them shipped tyd for less than $15.

Awesome video! I am definitely going to give this a try as I have tried a few other methods with my broadheads without the success I was hoping for. Thanks for making this.
