Sheds and dead’s 2023

Found a shed and some deads today. Pretty sure I matched the buck to one I had on camera.
Hey all. So this buck turned up on my camera again. I suspected last year that he was missing a leg and this year it was confirmed on camera. the following pic has a video that you can see the antlers better to confirm it is the same buck but I can't post the video.

Any way, pretty neat that I have this buck on camera 2 years, plus one of his sheds, plus he only has 3 legs. Honestly, if I see him while hunting I'm going to let him pass. He deserves it

not sure why my pic isn't working and says I need to upgrade. They made a change to this forum a little while ago that has made posting pics a real chore.

Edit - shrunk and added the pic

Got into this spot a few weeks ago. It was a slow morning so i was squirrel watching. Saw this guy start chewing on something hard. I figured it was a bone but it was actually a shed. There were several squirrels chewing on it periodically throughout the day. I also left it there incase anyone needed to know.

Huntin skwerls over bait are you?

I guess this guy counts for this year walking the same road as last year when I found that matching set and 5 yards of the road is this guy.

Who’s gonna find the first shed of the new season? It’s right about now that me or one of my hunting friends finds an early drop. Last year in my area most bucks dropped before the beginning of the new year, perhaps this year will be different.

What area are you in? I’m central pa and a couple start dropping here the beginning of January, but last year a lot held them till almost March

I’m in New England
That would make sense since you’re up north, we hunt some in western MD and the bucks out there drop earlier than where were at in pa, but it’s always 10 deg. Colder and they get 3x as much snow. I’m ready for shed season already and our hunting season isn’t over yet

Found this little one on Thursday, on the backside of a Christmas tree farm, looking for a Christmas tree and saw him there in a big pile of brush/ junk. It’s amazing to me that deer will hide in some of the strangest places for cover when injured.
