Are there any how to videos on how to use the DVA for shikars? I ordered some for my shikar 17s and I saw Greg Staggs video about them but I think maybe I got the wrong ones? Or I’m doing something wrong? I have to reach A LOT to get to the bottom knob with my versa button at my nose (I’m 6’2”) and then even with the other aider on the top knob it’s a STRETCH to even get close to the first step on the stick and I can’t quite figure it out. Thus far I have not been able to make it work and I’m starting to wonder if I’m not doing it right or what. If I can’t figure anything out I’m gonna have to change my whole climbing method which is extremely disheartening

I haven't used the system but after watching the video I'd say either try adjusting the aiders longer or lower the stick some and see if it helps.

I had to adjust my knaider swaider a few times to get it and the height for stepp right.

Unfortunately the DVA system I got isn’t adjustable. It’s a fixed length

Ah well that does take that option away then. Maybe try with the stick a little lower then so the step height is less?

My issue is when I do as Greg did in the video, with my second aider loop on the top knob of my stick, I only gain a finite amount of height and stepping up to the bottom rung on my stick is still almost waist high. I messaged Mike from Backwoods Mobile Gear but haven’t heard back yet

Not sure if this will help, since my climbing method is a little different. And I am not sure I can explain it very well.
I am using two Swaider's that i got from EWO. One on the right foot and one on the left..
I made two continues loops out of AmSteel. The are attached to the Swaider's.
I hang my loops on the stick steps, not the versa button. My first step goes on the bottom step and the second on the top step.
Since my sticks have 15" step spacing, my Swaider's are adjusted to 30". I can get to 5 feet with four steps.

So about 1 foot per step? ;)

If you watch the double versa aider from Staggs In The Wilds the double versa aiders are sort of the same principle as what you’re doing but shikar specific

Yes, but I put the loop on the step. I also do not go to that extrema step spacing. I am using Lone Wolf sticks cut to 17.25" with 15" step spacing.
I also put my foot sideways similar to Saddle Hunting Compact Climbing Methods: Use Steps and a Versa Strap to Climb 18+ feet with 3 lbs or less! - YouTube
With my stick set at 60" to top step, I am taking four 15" steps.
I tries 18" step spacing on some sticks and I though it may be too much come November when the temp dips and I am layered up.
