Shot in the dark - coffee business

Fair point. Right now, it's the time commitment. I'm exceedingly reluctant to take time away from my family. I've got a toddler and I'm lucky to see her for an hour before she goes to bed. When she gets old enough to participate in more of what I'm doing then that will open up a bunch of opportunities for me.
My wife and I always say, your most important asset is time. And spending that with family is never a waste.

Agree. Told wife only reason I agreed to have a lot of kids was free child labors in the future. Its an investment! I was very surprised she did not take it well when I meant it seriously.....or tried to covered it as a joke.

Some folks may eye-roll here, but the greatest draw for me in owning a business would be the ability to speak about God to patrons if they were receptive to it. I've been in an environment for far too long where one can be canned for holding faith related conversations. Think it would be nice to be able to put scripture up on my walls and give a blessing to everyone as I hand them a cup. :)
I love the idea of a faith-based business. In a world that is seemingly becoming more and more hostile towards people of faith, it's nice to have people of faith to give your business to, as opposed to businesses that support things that we may not agree with.
Know that you will have haters, who will come after you hard. But you already know that, don't you?

We had a local Panera bread, and I think the owner must have had some affiliation with our church, it became a very popular place for members of our church to meet and have coffee and a baked good. They too began having Bible study sessions and things of that sort. My pastor would sometimes meet with me for counseling over a cup of coffee. I remember early on sitting down for our first meeting, and as I looked around the entire coffee shop I noticed maybe 15 people from our church scattered about!

I'm sure that you will do fine. (And now, the SH dance...)There is this particular old book of wisdom, in an even older book of knowledge, that I like to read from time to time... I'm sure you've probably read from it as well. For your situation, I particularly like the 16th chapter, the third verse. That Solomon sure knew a thing or two;)

I do! I've been in the business for about four years now. It's a lot of work, but it's also a lot of fun. I love being able to interact with my customers daily and hearing their feedback. It's definitely not a get-rich-quick type of business. Still, if you're passionate about coffee and customer service, it can be a very rewarding experience. I highly recommend it! Also, I recently opened a great restaurant https://www.riwa-restaurant.de/de/. I would appreciate it if you left a review on google. Thanks.
