Where the skys are so blue!
I've been looking around on the internet for a database of pics of 100, 110, 120, 130, etc classed deer to try and get a little better at eyeballing bucks. I also took the little buckscore test (https://www.buckscore.com/buckscore-field-scoring-quiz/). I only got 3 out of 10 right, BUT...on every deer but 1 I was exactly one score class below what they said the deer scored. I've measured a few of my bucks and I'm wondering if I'm underscoring because Coastal Plains whitetails are small-bodied.

Anywho, if you've got deer that have been taped, post 'em up. Let us know (if you can) if they were green, gross, or official score; who scored them; live weight, and location they were killed.

This is like the sites phishing for passwords by asking names of your first pet, etc...:)

I feel like I've posted enough spreadsheets that I can ask for scores with a straight face. I'm not asking for a WMA or coordinates. Just a state. If you're shy just the weight helps. I'm curious to see how much body size impacts perceived antler size. I know it's a thing. I just want to see how much.

Haha just givin' ya a hard time!

This deer scores 168 6/8”, weighed 240, killed in Madison parish La., and was scored a couple times but the score listed was by a state biologist. The buck was only scored green within a 2 weeks of kill.

How do you even score double split G2s???

Nice buck. He's almost double the weight of anything I've killed down here. I couldn't even begin to eyeball something like that rack but I would've estimated him below that assuming he was around 150lbs.

@Jwiggins762 , were you high or low on your guesstimates?

Pretty much the same, I was only 2/10 but was exactly one range under on all but the 200", I missed that one by a lot. I didn't everestimate any.

That is a green gross score.I believe to score the splits by B&C you would have to decide to go typical or non-typical. In the typical score the measurement of the splits would be deducted and he would be scored as an 8pt which lowers the number greatly. Non-typical they would be included and maybe just the difference between the two sides would be deducted. That is what I have in my head from somewhere but could be wrong.

This deer was killed same parish and same season as my buck. His green gross score was 180 and some change. The official score fell into the upper 170’s. He is one of the largest 8pt on record.

5 of 10. Not bad. I overscored 4 and under scored one of my missed questions. All off by one tier.
