Trimming pre-sets and shooting lanes, in the market for a pole saw, went against my better judgment and bought a Fiskars saw at HD, used it for one afternoon, it didn't really cut it in my opinion :tearsofjoy:, then returned it for full refund, now shopping again.

Seems like there are some good options for middle of the road saws (still pretty steep $$) like Jameson, B-Lite, and Notch saws, but what I am really interested in is this -

Anyone running a Silky? Are they worth the money??

I need a new hand saw too, so I’m following this as well, I want a good one.... my last gerber broke and I almost got hurt.

I love my Fiskars 14 foot pole saw and their 10” folding hand saw as well. Been using it for almost 10 years now replaced the blade on it several times crazy sharp. Did you buy the newer orange handle ones? I’ve used HME saws, Hooyman and Corona and I think Fiskars is the best.

Thats the one I got, orange handle, 14 ft. Lots of good reviews, and loppers worked well, but didn't saw well at all.

Definitely a good pole pruner. That’s the upgraded version of what I have. In my opinion you’re not going to find anything better for the price.

Side note if you email gerber they may send a new one for free. They sent me one when i broke mine trying to get a BFA off a machine gun in the army. (definitely my fault)

Thanks, I wanted to try something different so I bought a silky pocketboy 170, amazon like $37 shipped, I like it, time will tell but it seems rugged.

I have been using a silky gomboy for all sorts of breaking down wood around the house and the yard, to hiking etc. for the past 4-5 years. It started cutting like an absolute beast, and although it slowed down a little bit its still working pretty damn well. Its coming with me next season for my first saddle hunt. I would highly highly recommend silky based on this one saw.
