Anyone have experience with the Simmons whitetail trail camera? I noticed Rodgers has them for $30 and I could use some more cameras. Open to other solid camera options as well! Preferably around $30-50?

I don't have any experience with that exact model but the first trail camera I bought was a Simmons like this: https://www.amazon.com/Simmons-Whitetail-Trail-Camera-Vision/dp/B006U0Z76Q 15 years ago. I still use that camera, last year was the first year it gave me any problems, it got some moisture in it but it dried out and is working again this year. I also the same Simmons camera in the black out version I bought about 8 years ago and it is also still working.

I have over a dozen of the $30 muddy cameras from academy. Have been bomb proof for me so far. Good battery life too. Simple to use and pretty good pic quality for the price, also take video

Somewhere on here awhile back I posted on my use of the el-cheapo Tasco 8mp trail cams. I get them from Wally World for like $28 each. They are a solid camera for the price and also surprisingly take some solid video too. I had them overlooking a bed in the middle of January here in WNY so its cold and the camera worked every time. They don't have a great range for detection (manual says 17') but for the price and for running them on public, they're hard to beat IMHO.

Just remember to format them each time you change out an sd card and you should be gtog.

I just bought 2 of the Simmons in June. On one of them the guys in China put the incorrect battery terminal in it. No luck getting in touch with customer service via email or phone after multiple tries. The $30 camera doesn’t work because I need a tiny piece of metal worth about 10 cents. I soaked the other one for 3 months. On 3 pic burst the first pic was usually visible then the second 2 were always way darker and essentially worthless. Night pics were worthless, couldn’t see anything on any of them. My advice is don’t buy the junk Simmons cams. I’ve had great luck with the Tasco and Campark cameras, and would recommend either of those as a cheap camera option.
