I need to be talked in to one.

I have the Skeletors and they are just solid. I need to get a 2nd set of sticks, and will either re-purchase the Tehrd or go to the SS sticks.

What are your thoughts, comparisons and experiences?

Thanks in advance,
Kris

Well, it all depends on your needs. Why do you "need" to get a second set of sticks? Weight savings, downsizing your load out, what?
Id say if the second set is a want over a need, as in want something different, in go between the one sticks and the carbon ss. If its to truly have a second load out, well go with what you know and are already familiar with.
I know the ss sticks are dependable but (totally unjustified at this point) to me the plastic ish rope securing points were the single point of hesitation. I went with the one sticks specifically for that reason alone.
Skeletors are a tad on the heavy side, not that it makes them any less of a solid stick, but to some guys that matters. Other than that the skeletors are about as solid of a stick as you can possibly buy for that price point.

Ill finish with this, you NEED to build your setups to suit your style and needs. If you need to be talked into something, id shy away from it all together. . . Just my humble opinion.

Great reply. And I should have clarified even more.

The 2nd set would be for me or my son.

I have the Tethrd and absolutely love them. Safe. Rock solid on the tree. Easy.

I had an old, heavy set of mini XOP doubles that my son was using and was able to sell them for a decent amount. For the sole purpose of an upgrade for his system.

My thoughts were directed towards the Carbons and giving him the tethrds based on a weight loss for me.

When im looking for thing that I will need to invest in(sticks, platform......) im looking for the areas that can cause me potential issues, either having to replace gear, or miss hunting days. Again this is just my opinion, the carbon ss sticks feel like a risk with the connection points. Id be rolling with thw skeletors again. The price point is good, you know how solid they are, you familiar with the and how you use them. Low risk, low learning curve. Unless you are 100% trying to shed weight, id stick to the skeletors....

I don't have skeletors but I do have Grit sticks but I think they are comparable enough. I was at a shoot back in July and a guy won a full Latitude saddle setup and had no interest in saddle hunting. The rest of us dropped on him like vultures and I wound up with the sticks pretty cheap.

I don't have a single bad thing to say about the Latitude Carbon sticks. However, just something I didn't care for and I honestly can't put my finger on it. They bit very well and packed very flat. I'm 230# first thing in the morning with underwear after I pee so a cup of coffee, breakfast and some gear on my back I'm a bit heavier. There was a bit of flex in them but not the end of the world. They packed flat but the only retention was a little rubber strap.

I only wear a size 11 but I've noticed I don't care for how I have to place my foot on sticks where the standoff is integrated into the step and parallel. Maybe because I got used to the Tethrd X-wing thing first, I found the wrap on the Latitudes a little fiddly.

If I had the carbons and my Tethrds fell off the truck and I lost them, I would've been happy and fine with the carbons. Given the choice I went with the Tethrds.

Okay, I was able to put the Carbon SS on the tree to day to try out.

I was shocked at how well they bit!

Connection method is very similar to the Skeletor so no real learning curve there.

Standoff is different but I have a size 10 ft and it fit fine.

These were my friends and I put his 3 with aiders on my bag and it was just kinda silly how light it was!

I am going to have a hard time not purchasing these!

THanks
