I have a Sharps 45-70 coming my way that belonged to my great grandfather. For whatever reason, my pop is uncertain, the barrel was plugged with lead from the muzzle end, the amount uncertain. The breach is clear and the rifle appears to otherwise be in serviceable condition. I would like to return it to operating status. Anyone know of a good gunsmith that would be willing to tackle this project? I have plenty of parts swappers in my area but I need an artist here.

This guys a couple hours from you but, has a great reputation. I had him work on an AH Philelphia Fox that was my Great-Great grandfather's and on a cheap 20 gauge side by side that I had bought for my son. He did an excellent job on both. If you can't find anyone closer he might be an option.

That’s exactly the kinda shop I’m looking for. Thanks
