I have always liked wool. Just wondered if anyone has this and can tell me how it compares to the modern tech stuff now...Sitka, First Lite ect?

Really like to hear opinions on how it compares and the weight and temperature range of it

It took me a minute to realize what you were asking because I have never heard of sleeping Indian wool. I had to Google it to figure It out. Never heard it mentioned on here either.

Yeah I have always loved wool and it looks super nice but it’s so expensive I’d like to hear how it compares to the modern tech stuff before I spend the money.

I used it for a few seasons several years ago because it’s hard to beat wool. Very high quality but super expensive. Switched to Sitka for the weight advantage and as good, if not better, performance. As good as wool is, the synthetics are premier these days.

I wear merino wool as my first layer and will never change its the best I have found even when wet! I sweat real bad and none of the modern tech stuff can hold a candle to merino wool! The only problem I have found is it is so good most of the time I don't need anything over it!!!!

If you’re going to look into wool clothing. I’d look into silent predator wool. Made from the same wool mill as KTM. Doesn’t have the shrinkage I’ve had with sleeping Indian also. They will also custom fit for $20

Wool will be much heavier and bulkier than synthetics. With care a wool suit will last your lifetime, synthetic not so much.

Filson is on a pro deal so it is a little cheaper if you qualify. Same material. It is really warm but bulky compared to the other brands you know. Its hard to roll up a 100% virgin wool garment and put in a pack.
