That's what I use on my 760, works great and depending on the situation but if I'm doing a bunch of walking/stand hunting then I use my claw sling, but if I am still hunting, stalking I like a skinny leather sling.

Have you seen the slim line quake claw sling? Thats what I use. Easy adjust, and it doesn't get in my way.

This ^^^^ and I put the band more towards the end than most to keep it low on my shoulder to help with brush, usually the sling is in my pocket though when ground pounding.

Outdoor speciality products out of Michigan has a rubber sling that is slick! the rubber stretches and absorbs some of the weight and you can split it and carry in the middle of your back when climbing. Once you try it you will never use a regular sling again!.

It's a 760. The previous owner had a barrel band on the rifle and took it off b/c he claimed it caused the gun to shoot inaccurately... I wanted to put one back on b/c I need to be able to get up a tree with it.

Had a band on my 7600 30-06 since the mid 90's, its always shot great. Same with my other family members that use a 760 or 7600. We have both. Alot of times accuracy problems are the shooter themselves, and sometimes the ammo. If it were my rifle, a band would be on it.
