Smoked him!

If you're in the "smoked him" camp, I think it should be mandatory that a minimal-penetrating arrow hit to the shoulder or legs get an audible.....

This will definitely be my new catch phrase on the 1 or 2 videos I put out a year, lol

"Watch him, he's diggin taters, he cant hold that one. Yeah baby, Big Buck Down, didnt go 20. Folks, give me a minute"

"Man, I couldnt have gotten it done if I hadn't washed my ozonics in dead down wind before loading it in my scent crusher tote box where I keep my scentlok pants and jacket." " I mean it came down to the wire, the last hour of the last day here at High Fence Howard's GMO Herd Haven. We just cant thank him enough" "Folks be sure to sign up for our new app Whitetail Fit that covers topics like Little Debbie's and couch squats"

Yeah, buckmercials. I think "rage in the cage" is one of the worst.

Why let the broadheads get all the glory. Hows about them shouting out out saddle or stand companies after a connect. I can hear it now..."Absolutely Tethrd him!"....."What a Beast from the Beast, Got Me Another One TM"..........................."Shut him down faster than a Lone Wolf lawsuit!"

I'm going to have to practice a ton so it comes natural. Toddler falls on her face, Whammy!!! Touchdow, Whammy!!! "Special time" with the Mrs... haha

This I agree too wholeheartedly, its not from a point of judgement as I do believe we personally celebrate our kills our own way. To do it in a manner that somehow denigrates the animal is troublesome though and just hurts overall hunter image. However, the statement I absolutely despise hearing any bowhunter say is "I stuck him." or "Just Stuck Him! or "Stuck a big one". Stuck.... like, hey I'm not certain I made an ethical shot on that animal but I sure know I wounded him somehow. Like, in your mind you still harvested the deer. If that is a person's inclination.... that wounding is good enough... wow. Take a camera or video instead then. I think we owe it to ourselves to peer review this kind of language in any scenario.

Who’s getting tired of hearing this phrase? Man I sure am!!! Not only do I feel it’s disrespectful to the animal but it’s a horrible term. Maybe I’m old fashion but when I take an animals life there is some celebration and a time to pause and thank God. I feel more hunters are loosing respect for the hunt and animal. I think this is hurting the hunting community and people are now seeing it when posting content on social media. What are your feelings?
It's one of those things, I'm of the opinion of "act like you've been there before." Barry Sanders style, score a TD and hand the ball to the ref, maybe some high fives and that's about it. I'm sort of the same with deer, I've shot my bow a bunch of times over the season. If that deer comes in range, I'm going to kill it because I've practiced a ton. So when I hit one, I kind of knew it was going to happen and I just watch where it runs and see where if it went down. Maybe call the wife and tell her that I got one. I haven't shot any monsters either so maybe I'll do a backflip if I get a P&Y buck lol. I find the naming of deer weird from the TV guys, and yes the "smoked him" thing is tacky.

I have no objection behind "smoked". I've said that on a doe, more of a description of great shot placement. Like anything else, what we say has more to do with the attitude and demeanor of the heart and intent, and that's not easily judged by ones self, let alone another.

I can tolerate the stupid video commentaries after a shot way more than the typical intros and fluff footage. I am a YouTube pro viewer and ffwd to at least the 7 min mark to start watching a 10 min video and miss nothing of substance. Also, don't show me a video sitting in the stand with no action or kills unless you are at least actually sharing tactical information.

Woooo, just smo…. , I mean, shot one.

Had this deer on cam for over a month, patterning him, finally had some time to get after him hard the past week. Saw him 3 different times without a shot opportunity. Finally, at 5:55 today he slipped up. Quartered to me, entry was ok, touch back, exited gut. Immediately had a tough time on the track. Buddy came out with a dog and we found him fairly quick after that. Went about 180 yards.

Two days from my birthday and only 3 more days of season. Couldn’t have worked out any better… Except of course if I’d have absolutely smoked him and he didn’t go 20…

And, I don't see how a phrase is more disrespectful than the fact that you went out of your way to take the life of an organism whose death gains you no survival advantage.
I can’t like this enough. They’re just wild goats. This romantic nature of them is modern. It reminds me of the noble savage myth.

YES!! I HATE when they sit there and whisper into the camera for 10 minutes and don't show any footage of the deer. I don't need to know every stupid detail of what the wind is doing and what color the leaves are on the trees. The only time that is helpful is when they cutaway and show a topo of what they're talking about.

Myth?

Dryden had picked up the expression "noble savage" from a 1609 travelogue about Canada by the French explorer Marc Lescarbot, in which there was a chapter with the ironic heading: "The Savages are Truly Noble", meaning simply that they enjoyed the right to hunt game, a privilege in France granted only to hereditary aristocrats.

And here we are...

I dunno, for some creators I agree, but as a newer hunter a lot of times I'm looking more at the terrain and listening to their wind etc descriptions compared to where deer come from than interested in seeing the kill shot
