My son got another one. This was his furthest shot. We were really trying for a nice buck this weekend. The 1st day we had a spike pass 10 yards from us. Heard a gun shot as it crossed the property line.
We stuck it out in this spot because I knew it was just a matter of time. Had some young pines on a hill to the left and cut over in front of us for as far as we could see. The edge of the pines were lined with scrapes and tracks. Our rut is just starting. On our last hunt a doe came out of the pines 250 yards out. We watched her for 30 min as she worked here way through the cut over. She would disappear from time to time but finally got to where it wasn’t gonna be long and she was gonna be out of sight for good. Kaleb decided he wanted to shoot her. I played spotter and ranged her at 250. Looked on the range card and called out the adjustments on the scope. There was no pressure to hurry and do hold over so we just made it a learning experience. He dropped her in her tracks with my 6.5 creedmoor. Great shooting and confidence builder for him.

Man I wish that's how I had learned to make scope adjustments instead of the traditional way of being screamed at and made to do PT. Congrats and cool experience!

That’s awesome man! Thankful my dad took me to “sniper school” many times as a kid. He’s still my hero.
This freakin governor in VA is trying to rob us of such memories...not to de-rail...
Congratulations!
