So are we just not going to talk about the Aerohunter Revolution?

I’ve been waiting for a discussion thread to pop up since they put it up on their site, but just haven’t seen it. Their descriptions sound like what I want to hear, but hey don’t they always. Definitely doesn’t look like my other saddles though. It’s available for preorder now, has anyone been brave enough to take that gamble?

What does everyone think about it so far? Was anyone here involved in the testing?

It goes back to the roots of using a RCH.

Plus side is that hip pinch should be eliminated. The downside is it may not do anything well depending on the bridge geometry.

I’d be will to give it a try but the 2 panel I have now resolve most things minus the hip pinch.

I have a recon and I don’t mind the metal as much as I thought I would.

yeah if I could have a sling with a good belt and without hip pinch I’d be golden.

Looks much closer to an arborist saddle than anything I have seen so far. I have a Petzl Sequoia I use for rec climbing. This looks similar. I don’t think I would prefer the bigger leg loops and metal d rings on my hunting setup?

so, i guess the main advantage to this design is that it doesn't squeeze your legs together while seated?

i can see how it might be good for hunters that sit in the saddle while climbing or at height

i lean on a platform and climb with steps....so i don't think it would do anything extra for me

The design is a going to be very similar to the Evo in many ways. It will be extremely pleasant to climb in but likely not as comfortable on long sits. I imagine it will be just a little less bulky and lighter than the Evo, but more than most saddles out now. This means it will be a saddle that you put on at the tree. For rope climbing enthusiasts it might be worth shelling $350 for the dual rec climbing purpose. For the mobile hunting crowd craze I don’t think this checks any of their boxes. It looks cool but I can’t justify buying one. I’ll be the first to make a clone once someone gets some measurements though.

It kinda looks like the Areohunter Evolution that they use to sell before they made the Kestrel. I am not a big fan of the design but that's me.

Geared toward rope climbing and rope climbers. It doesn’t appear to be after hunting or saddle hunt specific crowd.B7D111E9-109E-4447-AF96-63ECF25D65D9.jpeg710516ED-9908-4188-BF0D-03E3EEACD4E1.jpeg

I started the other thread and have been considering ordering one. I SRT most of the time and really like my OG Kestrel amd the AH quality so it seems like it could be a fit. I also sit 90% of the time with my knees on each side of the tree and definitely get some hip pinch sometimes.

However, it's so drastically different from any saddle I've ever sat in that I just don't know what to make of it. I might wait and see what the early adopters have to say before shelling out for one.

I like everything about that, but are those metal linesman loops?? That’s a miss
100% my thoughts too. It’s such a big miss where I’m not going to consider it. Currently looking into two-panel systems right now.

I'm still interested in it, It is unlike the few saddles I have tried. If I could have the back portion on my low back and the straps are long enough to get down towards my thighs I think it might work well for me. No-stick or SRT climb normally. I find that I kinda sit-lean, about a 45 from hips to knees with knees on the tree.

I also view the metal waist buckle as a bigger drawback than the metal LL loops - but I'm no expert

To me it’s more like their recreational harnesses and less like the evo than I originally thought it would be. Part of the reason the evo was so awesome was the adjustable swing seat. This one doesn’t have it, instead it has larger padded leg straps. Maybe it’ll be different but based on the shape, I’d say it’s gonna feel exactly like the New Tribe Twist which sells for $164
