So what will you be carrying for the firearms deer season this year?

View attachment 70138

the 700 and I have had a history. Im an adult onset Hunter and have 5 seasons I didn’t even get my first deer (a doe) until season 4 during my first bow season. Last season (5) I was able to take another doe with my bow. I also shot my first Buck last season with my uncles 7MM REM Mag. There’s a whole lot of stories and close encounters in there including the way I got my buck last year. But I’m hoping this is the year I get to do it with my own rifle. Specifically the 308.
Better late than never. The stories and encounters both good and bad are what make hunting great. Nothing like it... outside of God, family and friends of course.
I wish you the best season ever!!!

you too brother

The same ruger m77 stainless in 260 remington I've carried since I was 6. Dad handloaded 50 nosler 100gr partitions for it in 2001 and I'm down to three left. All but maybe three resulted in a dead deer, the others were either bobcat or coyote.

TC encore .357 mag 16.25” barrel. Been putting together some different hand loads to try.

Also .50 cal ML and 12 gauge slug if I get the itch for some CQB.

My uncle carry’s a TC encore single shot he pulled the muzzleloader barrel off and put a 7mm mag barrel on it. I’m in the will for that gun…..I love that gun it drives tacs all day long as well as drops anything it hits

Love mine. Sucks that they closed shop. Makes used barrels almost as expensive as custom jobs.

Had a trigger job done over the summer. 2.5lb trigger pull has made a world of difference.

1948 Winchester Model 70 30-06

Only deer gun I have. I dont plan to buy anything else as I believe ammo will be gone/unavailable within my life time. It has already become unaffordable if not unobtainable.

Excellent gun. My dad has a 70 and I have a Tikka t3 in 06. Ammo is still plentiful and cheap here for the most part.

More guns and gun owners today than there have ever been, and more nontraditional owners (minorities and women) buying than ever. Shortages are there for the same reason saddles have been backordered. Folks want em.

his trigger has to be close to that, it’s super crisp, no creep, and has the thumb hole stock

Either my Remington 7600 carbide in 30-06 or my Kimber 84M Montana in 308. Muzzle loader is a Woodman Arms 50cal.
