I’m thinking about selling my predator platform and getting the solo scout I will be running the rut roost. Does anyone have any experience with the rut roost with the predator and solo scout? Would it be worth selling the predator and getting the scout?

solo scout is 2-3wk wait if that helps your decision any.

Is the rut roost out for sale now? I’m not seeing it on their website. I’m interested in one of these too.

You have to call them to order it!

Good to know. Wonder if they’re going to launch it as a product at some point then. Do you know how much they cost?

Get the preset scout not the solo scout... the buttons are in the way on the solo imho

IMO, the preset solo with 3 squirrel steps and the rut roost is about the best all around system there is. You get a small platform, a ROS, and a seat for all day sits. The only thing I would say about the system is that you need to replace the OCB buckle on the preset strap with one from Eastern Woods Outdoors. You'll thank me later ;)

Rut roost is neat idea, but one more thing in the way. Id have to try one before I was on board with the idea.

Depends how much you value comfort vs things getting in your way. When it's prime time, it does fold up out of the way. On an all day sit it's priceless. And I mean an all day sit ... like 15 - 16 hours.

Do I see 4 sticks and 2 platforms? That's a lot of stuff.
I guess. 4 sticks are pretty common unless you use an aider or one stick. Neither option I really care for. I will use bolts and SRT for presets though. The Shikars pack really well, deployed or not. The scout and squirrel steps clip on the back of my saddle and the rut roost fits inside most packs. All of it, including filming gear fit in a sub 2 lb Badlands Pursuit pack.

I can see it being comfortable if you have the footing on either side, or your platform is high enough. We have all sat on a normal stand and even with a pad it hurts after a few hours.

Cant argue against that! I think the tech is awesome, but in my mind a big reason I went to a saddle is the simplicity. I can sacrifice some creature comforts for the simple nature of a saddle. I think I would get frustrated having that much strapped to a tree. Although when you think about it, it's somewhat similar to an inverted ultra light lockon with out a backbone..
