Someone gonna pull my trad card

It will work, but those bows have a nice radiused shelf on them for shooting off the shelf. Have you tried a wooden match stick under the rest material?
Like I said no real complaints other than wanting to give it a shot. I also might try Velcro instead of leather for the rest and plate. It does look like I’m getting a fair amount of rubbing, but that’s after a year of shooting.

I’ve got some female Velcro on the shelf of one of my recurves and it works great. I also stuck a match stick under the Velcro as the shelf on that bow was completely flat. Both changes were gigantic improvements.

Ya’ll crucify me when you see my 21” Satori is all set up with a sight, d loop, plunger and superflyte rest and shooting a release with it won’t ya?!?!? Won’t ya!?!? it’s coming folks!! It might even have a stabilizer:triumph:
Nope not going to wait to see, gonna start the crucifixion now. Post that nonsense in the compound forum. Yours is just a no let off compound.

I like baby seal hide rests...Bought a bunch before Alaska Bowhunting Supply (now Grizzlystik.com) stopped carrying them. Got 'em on at least half of my herd.

I figure it this way- if God didn't want men to use those skins as arrow rests, He wouldn't have made as many baby seals as He did!
As long as they were clubbed.

Well I don’t use a stabilizer anymore  but I would use either a bear weatherest or a hoyt super rest with the appropriate double stick backing to keep it close to centershot They are bomb proof and really aids in arrow flight in my opinion. Seal skin is the best and most durable but sadly you can’t get it anymore and Velcro works until you start getting pieces of feather stuck in there. I use a combination of plunger tips and beaver hide if I shoot off the shelf like in my new set up. Ya’ll should get @Redbeard to putup a pic of his new bow set up before he starts to accessorize it:flushed:

Does it glow under a lava lamp, I mean UV light?

I used to use baby seal skin as a rest but lately I have been getting sustainably harvested manatee foreskins collected by @Weldabeast
Come on my dude....I specifically asked u not to mention it on here. How am I to launch a game changing material to the outdoor industry if u go blabbing off at the mouth on the internet

I do not sell arrow rest material. Do not pm me. I will not respond. I will not take the time to explain all the benefits, like it's natural water resistance or the silky smoothies, or the unmatched sound deadening tendencies, or how abrasion resistant, or how it naturally rappels insects

Ok I tried these rests and I don’t care for them on this long bow. It seems I’d have to change spine to get the arrows to fly well off them. I’m going back now, what do y’all recommend for longbow shelf? Include pictures if you can.

leather or velcro, or both. velcro on shelf leather on side plate area. thats how i do it.

What ever you decide, just make sure that you register it with the "trad card committee" for approval. You don't want any more punches in your card. (Just looking out for you).

You can always use a hoyt rest it’s the the thin white one it will change your way of thinking I unfortunately don’t have a pic of one on my longbows but after running out of sealskin years ago I slapped one on and it dramatically changed my way of thinking about elevated rests. Paul Shaffer and the Wensels bros have been known to shoot plain ol bear weatherest on their bows

This is by far my favorite rest: https://www.3riversarchery.com/calf...oIaDZXVo0hqpU5fZUsgb7QMxGNnnXWlQaAjVXEALw_wcB

It’s quiet, last forever and looks good. I usually cut it into two pieces for the rest and the side plate but that’s just a personal preference. These aren’t longbows but attached are some pics.
