Not sure if this belongs here so mods feel free to move!

The club near me (I’m not a member) has another shoot coming up July 11-12. South 40 Archers is the name and they have a great course of 35-40 targets. Just off of 35 in Lakeville. $10 for non members to shoot. Anyone want to meet up and shoot the course in a few weeks?

No worries, neither am I!

Couple clarifying points:
- First, social distancing will definitely be top of mind for myself at least. Since this is outside I don’t plan to wear a mask.

- Second, I am not a pro and this is not a sanctioned event. It’s just a fun event and a way for the club to make some money during the summer. They do provide scorecards but obviously not required. I shoot these to have fun and practice for season. If you don’t like the shot angle they set up, then move. If you don’t like the distance, then move up! No judgement on my end in any direction and at the end of the day it’s all in good fun. If you’re a pie plate shooter with 20 yard max or a 100 yd assassin then let’s go plug some foam!

Last time I went there the mosquitoes were so bad I couldn't make it to the second target. Literal swarms!

Let me know if the skeeter situation has improved and I might make it over there.

I wear bug spray before I go in and I've never had an issue. Some folks walk around with thermacells too but I've found those to work better when stationary. I was there for the June shoot and the bugs were nonexistent, but with all this rain that may change. With spray I've never experienced anything too horrible.

One more bump coming out of the holiday weekend. Saturday is probably the better day for me, going to be warm but fun nonetheless!

I would if I wasn't scrambling this year. Momma is due Nov. 23 so I'll be spending the rut close to home. Looking for permission hunting spots and trying to make a food plot on my 1.8 acres

Sounds to me like you’ve got plenty of time to get some practice in!

In all seriousness, congrats on the addition! I wish I was able to hunt my .25 acres but the city says no dice, so it’s all public for me.

There is a 20 acre bean field that butts up to my land so I'm hoping to gain permission on that this week. Otherwise I'll be looking for close public options as well.

I'll be heading back to South Forty this weekend, probably Saturday mid-morning. Anybody want to meet up out there? The event is co-sponsored by BHA and should be a good time.

I'll be shooting trad, and moving up to < 20 yards on most targets. No need to be an expert shot to join! $10 per person for non-members. Cheap, clean fun!

Heading to the range at about 9am this morning. Who’s joining?

There’s drawings and a food truck, courtesy of BHA. I know you can’t say no to a chance at free crap and a food truck!
