Just got logged onto my spartan forge on my desktop and there has been a huge update. Now it lets you do slope angles, 3 different satellite views, UAV imagery when available and more. I am pumped it is so much more advanced and catches the browser version up to the app level. Thought I would share for the other SF users out there

A lot of haters out there year one. I’ve been using it since inception and being patient and watching it get better with each update. My theory is one of the big boys will buy SF out just for it’s tech and then integrate it into theirs. Then the SF owners can smoke cigars and lose expensive arrows and laugh.

I think from the modest amount I know about the founder he seems pretty driven to have his own outfit that is independently owned. I think they have a long future ahead of them with all they are working on

I jumped on with the beta testers and am locked into the intro price so I've stayed with it for these last couple years, it continues to improve imo. The owner has impressed me, from a character standpoint, every time I've heard him interviewed. If they are able to integrate sharing across platforms I'll drop OnX entirely as that's what my group uses currently.

One us always lagging so badly for me that I'm constantly cussing it. That's the reason I'm leaving. Plus the sf guy is a nice dude.

I still havent figured out how to mark a hunting area. Like the boundary.

Is he still talking about using AI to help tell people where to hunt? Or was that just a marketing gimmick? Are my waypoints secure or are they subsidizing those that don't work to obtain their own?
He is using AI to create predictive models based on scientific deer collaring data from many many studies and has the approval of several academics that his methods work and match their findings. He isnt mining the app for waypoint info or anything like that. It would be a nightmare to do with everyones different skill levels, labeling systems etc.

But for what its worth, I dont even really care about the AI component as much as the mapping functionality, detail, waypoint choices, windroses, and multiple aerials in any area including usually a leaf on and leaf off with a swipe of my thumb

I downloaded the free version a while ago. I got a chance to talk with them at the Expo today. I showed them a issue with the topo version and they are going to look into it.
They have some nice improvements comming. I will upgrade to the paid version (one year free) since the new topo maps will be on par with Caltopo.

Is there a way to move all of HuntStand info onto SF?
