Spear hunting

I watched that one the other day. Tim Wells has some really interesting content that is really different from almost everything else on Youtube. He shoots a compound with no sights and uses finger release and still can shoot birds out of the air. He spears all manner of game. He uses that blowgun to kill all sorts of stuff. It's pretty wild.

Having seen a spear in action on a hog firsthand I can tell you they are amazingly effective. Imagine a razor sharp broadhead wound but 3 times as wide.

Only problem I have with that is the wound size ruins At least one whole rack of the ribs for me lol

I wonder if they care about FOC and TSW? Single or double bevel? Please don't take this seriously
I own a cold steel hunting spear as well as the blow gun Tim Wells series.. they are actually very effective close range hunting weapons. The spear definitely worries about high FOC  but it rarely bare shafts bullet holes

Ha, when it weighs 6 or 7 pounds I don't think it makes as much difference but looking at that blade on his spear I bet it has some pretty good forward of center, no doubt. What amazes me are the blowgun kills. He has taken several large animals with darts to the vitals, and they didn't make it far at all.

Lol. I did have that thought cross my mind. What kinda FOC does all that stuff have. Also the few things I watched, he didn't pass through anything. The one in Russia hunting pigs I just watched seems a little fishy. That guy didn't seem very Russian. But not sure where else you can find pigs in snow like that. The one little pig he shot ran a good ways. He didn't really say how far it went.
Not gonna dismiss the accuracy of anyone shooting birds out of the sky. But there is a hint of cheese to the videos.

For the spear or dart to fly blade first, the weight needs to be slightly heavier in the front. Its very similar to those tatical throwing axes that people have started playing with. The dart gun is pretty easy to learn to shoot accurately up to about 25 yards and those darts penetrate really well! Chucking the spear though is definitely not my strong suit

@Fl Canopy Stalker have you killed with the blowgun? It always amazes me how something so little can stop an animal in the same distance as an actual arrow and broadhead
Squirrel and raccoon. I’m not brave enough to shoot these big Boar with that because you need to be close. Like less than 20 yards to really get the penetration you would want and I have been tree’d by a couple wild sow in my life. So if I am shooting pig, it’s gonna be with my bow or gun not the dart. However they are silent squirrel killers and the dart gun is two pieces and the darts can be attached around the side of it so it packs down really nice.

Oh yeah, the guy with the Russian accent was a tongue in cheek thing, I think it was meant to be and I think they filmed it before all this trouble broke out over there anyway.
