There isn't a thread, so I'm starting one. I need to upgrade my straps on my spurs. The original ones can be silenced, but they could be quieter and easier to remove without sacraficing safety. What is everyone doing? Post your mods.

I ordered a speedy stitcher, straps, and buckles. Now just got to find time to do it. I'll post something when I'm done.

Here is a picture of the straps I used. These spurs came with a lot of Velcro that had to be removed. I also didn't want to use the metal ring on the ankle, so I replaced that strap as well.

Sport climbers use a similar method. Basically nylon webbing and cinch buckles

This is basically how I plan to mod mine. I've had the parts for months, just not the time lol.

I'll get some pics of mine. Just used 1" webbing and ITW Fastex buckles. They hold really tight! I also added some grip tape to the surface area my boots rest on to keep the spikes from sliding any and squeaking when wet.

Pics or it didn't happen. ;)

What are you planning on using for your setup red?
I am going to see how these little cam buckles work out on 1 inch webbing. I like the idea of them better than clips that could pop open with too much pressure.

Cam buckles worked great. Very secure.

I have the 1.5" plastic cobra buckles for my top straps. It's not really important but the are rated for like 500lbs. I am very pleased with them. I just got a set of Kiwi saddle hunters and am replacing their straps with this.

Look at the previous posts by IHold450 and redsquirrel. Those are applicable to Kleins as well.
