Steath strips for bow backing?

Hi yall,

Have a beautiful old 54" Shakespeare Super Neceda that I may take into the woods for a hunt or two this season (mostly hunting with a real sweet Wild Horse Creek Hawk) but the Super Neceda has very shiny black limbs. I know there are products I can buy to apply but I have a couple rolls of stealth strips left over and was thinking it might look good and save me some money to just use that. Wanted to get your thoughts?

Thanks to anyone in advance.

Why would you cover that up? I have a Super Necedah from the late 60's and I don't think you have to worry about a deer seeing the limbs. Imo it would be a shame to cover up those limbs. Plus the stealth strips would leave a sticky residue behind if you ever wanted to take it back off.

Edit: on a side note, they are sweet little bows. Even though it is only 54" long it doesn't start stacking until right at the end of my 29.5" draw length.

I hear you. Its a beautiful bow but for me its purpose is to kill deer and have fun shooting. Adhesive can be removed with a solvent if needed. I figure it would be easier to clean up than spraypaint...

That's probably true. Are you worried about the shine or the black? I personally don't think either would be a problem but, if it's the shine you could hit the entire bow with a coat of satin Poly and knock down the shine.

Here's a couple more opinions. Your not the only person to have this idea lately.

Just the shine. I could try paste wax as well i guess. Just found another thread dealing with this question a couple weeks ago so I guess this one is about wrapped up. Thanks all. I will think on it

Paste wax is a good solution and I have a bow with that on there. Let it sit on there for about 15 minutes and wipe off extra but don’t buff. It will give you a cloudy matt finish. With that said I don’t think you even need to do that. Just hunt as is.
