Sterling Oplux vs. Teufelberger Resc Tech 8mm

I was supposed to post a pic but forgot. I had about 60 hunts on my oplux bridge and tether and they definitely didn’t pass the traditional dynamic rope pinch test. I cut it apart and took the core out and honestly everything still looked totally intact. Core looked solid. It was just that the pressure on the knotted areas had totally flattened the rope in those places. This didn’t really happen with my lineman I’m thinking cuz they never bears much weight. I’ve since just decided to replace my bridge, tether and lineman’s with research tech. Likely will just replace these ropes mostly every season since I hunt so much and the ropes are relatively cheap compared to hospital bills.

Makes sense. With a static rope made out of something as stiff as dyneema (edit: stiff as in doesn't stretch, it bends easily), for the rope to keep that bend then either the outer radius strands would have to stretch or you would have to have different length strands, longer on outside. It reminds me of your truck's differential and why you don't make tight turns on dry roads in 4WD.

I replace my tether, linesman and bridge every year to ease my mind. It sure does add up though!

^^^ LOL
It takes me a while too. I gotta stop - rewind - and watch that dang Triad bridge video 15 times to get my Swabisch tied right on my bridge...

I just switched my rappel line to resctech from canyon elite(which is SWEET BWT). It packs up so nice and rappelling with it was very smooth using an ATC with a prussik brake below it. I used it as my tether going up on one stick as well. I really like it and after a few low level tests, I have no worries using the resctech with a ropeman 1 either.
Only downfall yesterday was I tried to add a prussik tender for the first time and a little burr on the mini keychain carabiner grabbed a small outer thread…..UGH!!
