So I’m waiting on my 4 Shikars I got on the sale of the 4th. I am torn between what attachment method to use. I don’t like not wanna use the buckles. So I’m trying to decide between versa-daisy chain-whoopiechain. My worry is on my cut down helium I had one kick out using a rope mod. And I’m concerned it will not bite down hard enough especially on the top stick with the platform attached. Any advice or input?

If I was using a platform on top of a stick I’d likely run 2 cam buckles. One on top, tighten down and then tighten one on the bottom. I use daisy chain amsteel on my helium’s but I’m not standing on them for long periods of time

I'm running amsteel daisies on my 20" Heliums and I have a homemade platform on the top stick. I attach it first with the daisy just to hold it in place and then I put my ocb strap around it just under the button and tighten it down but not so much as to flex it too much. It's rock solid this way, only takes an extra minute and gives me piece of mind.

I just got my shikars today with the 5/8 flat strap cuz it was cheap. I have used helium with cam buckle and versa strap...but so far I think I can go around button and tie 2 half hitches with the flat strap as quickly and tightly as any other method...but I just got them so my opinion may change..

My advise would be try cam buckles first. They can be quieted down and provide quite the secure purchase to a tree. If you don't like them plenty of time to get some whoopies or daisy's

I like 1/4" amsteel. Quick, quiet, easy and solid.
