Stickbow pull up strategies

Have you tried a clove hitch? Simple to tie. You could tie it right to the limb. It won't slide and comes apart pretty easy. I use it at work to pull stuff up all the time.

Jammin the grapple hook is also handy when you need to pull a little limb out of the way or to ya to snip it off
Yeah, after this thread I’m absolutely adding a modded treble / grapple hook with a magnet into my saddle hunting rig.

Not so much for pull up, but for branch management, dropped arrows, and dropped gear.

My haul line is the 40' Dynaglide kit from EWO spooled onto a Harbor Freight dog leash. I've got a large treble hook clipped to the mini 'biner the kit came with. Filed off the barbs and rounded over the points. The treble hook hooks into the handle of the dog leash, which rides in a MOLLE canteen pouch with the line feeding through the grommet on the bottom. One day I'll epoxy a magnet onto the bottom of it but haven't gotten that far yet. I should drop a throwbag in the canteen pouch as well, as it would come in handy for grabbing branches and setting pre-sets at height. I'll see if I can find pictures.

Get a retractable dog leash! Super simple, light weight and very affordable. I ordered one for big dogs that's 26' long and it was $18, off of Amazon. Even Harbor Freight has them for $5. Attach it to your saddle or belt or any loop with a carabiner or make a loop of paracord. ;)
Don't use "S"-biners like the ones in this photo, because they don't stay attached. I no longer use them and switched to a standard carabiner.

I zip tied my dog leash to my pack. I never take it off.
Make sure the leash has a ribbon not a cord. The cord can really cut into your hand if you let it go with any weight on it.

I just use the same retractable winch/haul line that I use for my compound. It clips to your belt, pack, saddle etc and feeds itself out. If not that, just some Paracord with a plastic carabiner. Don't overthink it.

I replaced the ribbon on my leash with Dynaglide, the 40' kit from EWO spooled right on. It is pretty thin, but I only haul my bow up on it - packs comes up on my rappel line. After I rappel I use it to retrieve my rope.
