Sturdy climbing sticks.from the hardware store.

16" alum or steel tube

2 - 1/2" x 6" Bolts or what ever you feel safe on, two nuts and washers for each

The stand offs are pretty simple, 10" piece of 1 x 1/4" steel bent to 90deg (I have access to a hydraulic press) but you can use 90deg brackets as long as they are strong enough. 1/4 are usually available at must hardware stores.

Bolt for.attaching rope, webbing or what ever you use couple washers and flange nuts.

Nice ingenuity! I like it. My only concern would be big rubber boots on a slippery cold hunt on those smooth steps, but they could be roughed up a bit for better traction. How much do they weigh and what was total cost? Also what are the standoffs?

I'll get a weight tomorrow, Most of this can be done from common hardware store parts.
I got the materials free (drops from projects at work) bolts are cheap require some traction to be added like dipping in plasti dip or traction paper ect....
Tubing is most expensive part, Bar stock is usually fairly cheap

Mcmaster which is expensive
3' section of tube is $20 would make 2 sticks, $34 for 4 sticks

1' x 1/4" bar x 6' is $20 Enough for 4 sticks if you use 9" instead of 10 not huge diffrence

And hardware
2 step bolts i used 1/2" security and the nut fits inside tube (just barely) to give more support Bolt thought tube Nut inside, tube, washer, nylock nut
Add a (heavy versa button) 5/16 bolt thought (rope side) bolt oversize washer flang nut backward washer -tube- washer Nylock nut

4 sticks could cost you 50-60 or less if you can get better deals mcmaster is always expensive. Check local metal shops for drops be surprised how cheap you can get stuff.

Strap shown in pic was not what i normally use all i had on had to test at ground level, pick what works best for you.

Those should do ya just fine! As much commercial saddle stuff that’s available, the grass roots is DIY!

Was asked how these went together, this was my setup. They've been rock solid all season so far. Did get some traction tape from Tractor Supply for the bolts, and painted up.
