Am I correct in that you're buying and selling on the little swings?
Yes. Mostly holding for a day or three. In an IRA, there are no tax reporting requirements until withdrawal when it is all ordinary income. In a Roth IRA, no taxes at all. Taxes would be tedious in a regular account.

I'm up 42% on ATOS I bought last week. This is the third time buying it but the biggest profit margin so far. Planning on holding for at least another week and see how it continues to move.

Expecting ATOS to get back up to around that $5 a share?
No real expectations I’m kind of learning as I go. I bought at .88 and sold at 1.06 last time and it proceeded to creep higher until they had an offering last week. Dropped right back down to .88 to do it all again. I sold 100 shares today to make $30 and kept the other half to see what happens.

Yea I’m definitely a total rookie to this. Wishing I would of got the jump on a few of these before they started to climb. I put in $30 to play around with the other week. Up to $42 figured I’ll just make a little here and there as a fun side hobby lol.

I could have bought atos at .88 and sold it at .98 like 6 times before I got rid of it the first time lol. It would have only been $20 but I’m really only aiming for 10-15% increases and trying my best to minimize risk. I bought SYN at 1.20 as it rocketed up to 1.70 but got stuck as it tanked. Averaged down to about a dollar but it’s sitting at -20% right now.

It looks like you're playing pharma penny stocks. Those are gambles on whether or not they will get a drug to pass FDA approval. They release data during phase 1, phase 2, and phase 3 trials that each have to be passed before FDA approval and them being able to sell their drug to make money. Sometimes the stock will climb into one of their test data releases. If they pass a phase the stock can rocket up, if they fail, it crashes.

With today's market volatility, isn't it all gambling to some degree?

My stop was hit on WMT yesterday and I am out. It opened down 2.35 today which would have been a $235 loss for me. That is what stop does. Stops the loss.

Sounds like a bargain buy today

Placed order yesterday buy 100 SPY@381.50. Limit sell 390.00. Stop 379.50.
Priced opened down 1.88. Now @ 382.35.

Bought 25 shares of GHIV now UWMC mid 11's yesterday. Holding for the company's first earnings report of the year. Sold the ATOS off yesterday before it hit $2, still holding 100 shares

Bought 100 SPY@381.50. Stop hit. Sold 100 SPY@379.395. Loss around $210. Price now at 383.21. Big guys manipulated the market to take out the stops. The sharks will eat you sometimes. Best only allow them little bites.

I always read your guys posts, stocks seem scary but fun.

I keep hearing about game stop stocks on news but never really heard what is going on. Any layman's terms on what's going on?

Fund managers speculated that the stock would go down so they shorted it (means they "borrowed" the stock from someone, sold it to someone else, and anticipated being able to buy it on the market for a cheaper price than they sold it for before they had to "return" it to the original owner even with a small commission to the owner)

Fund managers were shorting the stock so much there was not enough stock available in the market to purchase to cover their positions. Smart people on the internet figured this out before the calls were due and purchased/held the stock, which makes the price rise.

Fund managers had to purchase the stock at the inflated value to cover the shorted positions, costing them a crap ton of money and making a few internet people very rich.

If you are thinking about buying GameStop now, don't do it.
