so during a conversation with a fellow member of the SH community about the doe i lost the other day, he recommended trying out a string tracker. has anyone else on the forums used them that could offer advice or insight to their experiences with using it.

When I was a kid all the old timers used tracker string. I haven't seen or heard of it in awhile.

There is a guy on YouTube can’t for the life of me remember his name but he uses one with his long bow and from the videos I have seen it seems to work very well

We used to use them when I was young. The string usually broke before the deer died but, you could almost always follow the string to at least first blood. My 13 yr old nephew just shot his first deer with a recurve. My dad was afraid of him not getting an exit hole so he taped a string tracker to the bow, you can see it in the attached pic. After the shot the deer ran through a soybean field and they left it lay overnight but, the next morning they followed the string right to the doe.
