If you’re into watching stumps meet their maker, I’m putting up a new YouTube channel.

No reviews, no music, no talking - just a guy shooting stumps.

More videos coming with the weather getting nicer.

Give it a follow if that’s your thing!

Perfect!

Maybe subsequent videos you could edit in a circle over the stump to let us know where the aim point is. Some of the shots had my eyes lost right out the gate.

Remind people that you need to select the right stump too. Hard wood can be brutal on your arrows. I didn't learn this until recently but I thought stumping was just going around the wood and shooting at natural target. This is actually call 'roving', which is mostly aiming at leaves or mushroom at ground.

Yeah you definitely learn which ones to shoot quickly. In one of the videos I tried some cheap light up nocks and they flew everywhere on the somewhat harder stumps lol.

Hope you guys are liking the videos! Feedback appreciated as I get my filming setup and format dialed in.

What up Dario? Long time no see. Cool trad content. I thought the elevated practice was good. It’s something I need to do myself. Happy shooting!

Yes. Range roving or stump shooting. You typically use judo tips for range roving. Can for both but rubber blunts for stumps are better so you’re not digging them out. Otherwise just target dead or rotting stumps.

@movehuntir , former saddler @DBL B and myself (all retirees from the same company) spent the morning out humbling ourselves . . . well mostly me . . . walking through the woods doing a stump shooting session. I only broke one arrow (not counting the nick I put in one of @movehuntir 's) so it was a good day. It was a good way to spend the morning wandering through the woods shooting at random distances and targets and taking a break from killing foam.

My only concern ahead of time was if the stumps were in season and what the bag limit was. Turns out an overlimit wasn't really something I needed to worry about. :tearsofjoy: It was definitely a good time though.

No, No, I humbled myself as well. Good day.

Gatta pay to play! The practice of judging yardage and constantly changing your backdrop/sight picture is invaluable!
Naa... I'd rather be more selective of my targets. ;)

I agree with the unknown yardage estimation for good real time practice.
These Forge Converta Blunts are as tough as they come. A great way to match the small game blunt to the field point that the bow has been tuned with for target. They weight 75 grains. I just added a 100 grain field tip and they match my hunting tip weights.
