I did a rope mod with amsteel and and EWO button and it worked OK with a 3 step aider. My only issue was the stand offs are smooth and dont bite into the tree. It wouldnt stand up with side pressure. I still might buy a cam cleat and try it just for climbing. As original thay are noisey.

Have a set of Bucksteps and can attest they aren't just noisy but they are hands down the most noisy climbing system I own and have ever used or seen and I own 32" LWCS, Jim Stepps, a Centipede ladder and screw in steps.
Don't use them just for that reason. Maybe some stealth tape or similar noise dampening product might help just never tried any.

Im using the Bucksteps for a preset on a white cedar and I had to stealth strip the standoff where it contacts the cedar due to sqeaking while climbing. It also helped seat it better, I dont know how long itll hold up but good so far.
