Super Simple Platform

I would like to see photos of u walking on it.

Yes. It seems like it would roll down and away from the tree.
once that ratchet strap settles though, it couldn't go any lower.

It may have a rebound though....like a spongy feeling to it, more so than ameristeps. Due to it rolling back up

Guys it was too dark to get video for you when I got home from work. The tube is 3" in diameter and according to my postal scale it weighs 4lbs 9.8 ounces compared to the Ameristep platform at 2lbs 7.3 ounces. I talked with Jim today and he said he made one out of 6" diameter tube and you practically don't need the Saddle. As soon as I can I'll get video with it on the tree.

Roger,

Guys,

I will also see if I can get JW to send me a photo of the six inch hose as well. As soon as I can I will post the video after I make it.

Thanks,

I'd be real interested if smaller 5-6" pieces could be added to a Jim stepp cammed rope setup.

I'm not sure about the application of the marine exhaust hose but I'm sure someone could talk to a hydraulic shop that deals with heavy duty stuff and get any short pieces at a deal.

Interesting idea. Just a thought on alternative materials if exhaust hose is cost prohibitive...may be able to do something similar with corrugated drain pipe. Did a little looking and Home depot carries a 3" 10' long around $7 here. And I'm wondering if you could cut up a cheap fat tire bike tire tube to cover it for noise/grip.

Guys,

I recorded the video yesterday and have to trim it up and post it. I couldn't get the ratchet strap as tight as I wanted to there was too much strap on the spool. I actually bent the pin and had to man handle it off the tree, lesson here get a good ratchet strap not something from HF. Even so once Jonathan hopped on it a couple of times it was rock solid. Nice part is very little noise due to the rubber putting it on and taking it off. This was on a pine which are normally noisy and tough to get anything on really tight because of the bark!

Roger,

G2 that's not me that's a guy I was helping get started with the Aero Hunter named Jonathan and yes that is really cool! It was his first sit and shoot from the AeroHunter.
