Surprise Buck Bedding Behind me

I walked back to my tree at 6:30am climbed and waiting for legal shooting hours at 7:15am. At 7:36am I started my Tactacam on my head and bow to get set for the day. I then I took a look to my left, back to my right, and then in a panic back to my left as I noticed a buck bedded in the brush behind me. It freaked me out. I could not believe he walked in a bedded that close to me (+/- 15 yards). If the video uploaded you can see exactly what happened.

I waited and saw him stand. He was not panicked or moving oddly, but he stood there. When I thought he might be moving directly away from me (east) I lined up a shot and took it. I missed due to the brush in the way (my story). He ran about 15 yards away behind me, shoot for about 3 seconds wondering what just happened, and then slowly walked out of the woods.

I really wish I had not shot at all or would have waited to see if he would walk out in to the open. My mantra this year is now ‘patience, patience, patience’.

Yep, Working on the right one now. Doh!
And yes... They are on the no shoot list for my property partner.
