Surprised by DRT

What is that contraption

It is a throwball launcher and it is amazing especially if you get it with the locking trigger mechanism

Oh yes, I have seen those. They are nice.
It’s great because you don’t have to recharge or change out air cartridges. And it’ll shoot over 100 foot with a 10 or 12 oz ball. I prefer a 14oz and all my shots are under 50’. Best scouting and preset companion ever

This thing has been on my mind since this thread, finally bought one tonight with the 25% off code they have going right now.

To get the throwball to the height we typically use it, you only need one section lol when you use both, it’ll launch that ball a hundred foot high lol

I've been using DRT as my primary climbing method for saddle hunting. I've climbed either using the hip thrust method or using a CT quick step foot ascender. Lately I don't use the ascender as I like to be as minimalistic as possible.

DRT is definitely not as convenient as walking in and climbing up a ladder stand or sitting in a ground blind but I enjoy my hunts more when using DRT and a saddle. I feel much more engaged and find the climbing and rappelling portion fun and challenging.

I hunt private land. I am using saddle hunting/DRT more and more because I can preset as many trees as I want during the preseason rather than have to buy a stand for each.
