So anybody have any new info on these cameras, I read all the old threads on the first Tactacam cell cam, I’m assuming probably not because they just hit the stores, any info would be appreciated, I love my Browning cameras just trying to decide if I need to make the leap to cell cameras, most of my season is spent 2 hours away from home and it sure would be nice to have real time info sent to my phone, thanks!

I said screw it and ordered a couple from Dano, when they get here I’ll try them in the yard for a few days and get the bugs worked out, if there is any, before I drive 2 hours and walk several miles and let them soak for several months, if I find anything of interest I will post it!

I used a couple of Tactacams last year and liked how they performed but to be honest I'm no expert on cameras. Using cell cams is a no brainer imo, I'm hooked on them. Going to order a couple of these new models from DanO, thanks for the heads up.

I used the first generation last year and was really happy how they worked. They would send pics from an area that I hunt that I can’t even get a phone call to go through on regular basis. Picture quality was good too. I picked up couple new gen models and hopefully they pick up where the old ones left off

I have my first tactacam X out this year. Out of 120 pics so far, only 4 have a deer in the frame and the others were false triggers due to tree movement. My sensitivity setting was at 7, now set down to 5. I’m sure the false triggers are as much as anything due to poor choice of where I put up the camera vs camera function itself. But like we say, I thought that was the tree it needed to be in. I like the app and ability to connect my phone to the camera to see what it is aiming at and also manage camera settings. I haven’t found a way to set the camera for a 1.5 zoom

This was my exact scenario too. It’s working great on the Level 5 now

Am I correct, the reveal x will send a “check in” picture once a day if I want, some of my big woods spots I’m lucky to get one picture every week and a test picture once a day would be nice just to know it’s working properly still.

Only had it out for 3 days so not much time into it yet. Just be sure to pick battery type.

I also had the same problem. Bumped mine down to 4 and its awesome. This is my first cell cam and they are sweet

I've had two of the Reveal X in the woods for about six weeks and they've been great. I didn't realize they captured audio with the video until I pulled the cards the first time. Pretty neat when you have a video with no deer but you can hear one walking just off to the side or behind it. Had one where a couple of does went running by then stopped and started blowing at something.

Just an FYI I got my 2 cameras in I haven't screwed around with them yet but in case anybody is wondering Camlock Box makes a box already for the Reveal X, I ordered some for my other Cams too and they fit perfect, I’m done with bears trashing my stuff, these boxes are rugged and fit like a glove, made in the USA, I’m super fussy and they impress me.67588A15-3F81-49BF-97FA-809E29B5BFE8.jpeg

Just curous if anyone else has had issues with their camera not sending pictures when set to sending twice a day. Mine only seem to send everything when I set them to timely.

This post was useful for settings I definitely was a victim of the getting a photo before the deer is fully in view and another as they were leaving view, I think the low to medium signal is why my cameras are having issues. Ill get photos throughout the day on timely but when I change to twice a day I get nothing. Did you happen to test the original reveals like your reveal x's? I have 4 of the old ones and 3 of the x's

Nope just the new reveal x, these are my first cell cams, I have used cams forever including the original cameras that took traditional film!
