Team 1 Thread

I could have tagged out on does this past weekend, but I want to keep the does ignorant so they will bring in the donks next month!!

I’ll be in the woods Thursday. Buck only here until the 25th, so if I see anything legal it’s getting an airra flung at it. I need meat...and we need points.

Sounds like a lot of us are on the same page. I've been staying out of my prime areas for now, but a doe shouldn't be a problem as the season goes on. Anyone seeing any increased activity yet?

Only on my dreams!!!

It is amazing to me the older you get the less time you have. I remember being in the woods almost every day either morning or night or both. My wife knows that this time of year I need to be in the woods or I get a little irritable but OMG it is one thing or another and she isn't planning any of it. College tours, soccer games it is all madness I am telling you all MADNESS! I just want to hang out in a tree. Is that so terrible?

Sorry all... cost us some points this morning. Had a nice 8pt walk in to 15 yards this morning. Made a noise to get him to stop, but he ended up stopping behind a tree. Looking back, I probably had enough showing to get a good kill, but I would have liked another half step. After he paused, he started walking again...tried to stop him again, but he didn't like that at all and took off.

So... we'll try again next time.

I had 13 deer in the morning and not one was in a shooting lane. A few steps here or there and I would have added 5 points. Many opportunities around the corner.

This year is being hard on me guys. I messed up on two shooters so far. With saying that haven’t slung an arrow yet wile doing so. I’m about to leave for Ohio on Friday for 10 days. Hopefully I’ll get some points on the board for us then! Been hunting with my son a lot this year. He has killed an 8 and two does but I have a big goose egg. Hopefully the good angels of deer hunting will bless me up there for that haha

Hey everyone. Sorry i have not been active much the last month. Been quite busy getting the missouri saddle hunters event up and going for this weekend. But today is the start of my 2 weeks of vacation so i will for sure be getting us some points on the board soon

Good cold front pushing through this weekend, and good wind to setup on an area I've been saving. Debating on the area, but will definitely be out this weekend, trying to make up for my blown shot last weekend.

Had a decent 8pt walk under me yesterday, but ended up having to let him walk. I drew back and planned on taking him, but each time I did, he was blocked by too many branches to get a clear shot. Getting good chances, but yet to close the deal. Hoping to get something down soon...freezer is getting thin!

We've had a slow start guys... Things should pick up for me in December and January, I have only been in the woods 3 morning sits so far.

We are getting smoked and I haven’t seen a deer since the season opened. Guess all that pre- season scouting was useless. Waiting on a cold front, a westerly or northerly wind, a day off work, and someone to keep my 3 year old. If those stars will align for me then maybe I’ll be in luck. If not, maybe I can catch one being stupid during pre-rut at the end of January. Hurricanes aren’t helping either.

Headed out this weekend taking Friday off, the deer should be trolling for does now in east TX where I hunt, this cool front should get them feelin spry!

My plans for this weekend went sideways, but I should have time to run cams this week. I've got a few areas I want to set up a few more cams and check on some others before the hormones kick in. I've had some good opportunities so far, but need to capitalize on some. Luckily we have a long season here, but still...getting I need to break the seal and punch that first tag.
