Team 1 Thread

Checking back in with an update. Was out Sunday Monday and yesterday. Sunday I hunted over a very active scrape but only saw a small 6 point on my walk up the hill. Pulled my camera and have 8 different bucks visiting it at all times of the night. Two nice 10s and a bunch of different 8 points. Will probably revisit that later next week.

Monday afternoon I hunted near another scrape but only saw two does and watched two different trees come down in the wind storm.

Tuesday morning I saw two four points sparring in a clearing on my way in, saw a few does but nothing that was in bow range. My cell camera showed that the buck I'd been trying to locate was there at 6:15 PM last night so I guess I was on the wrong side of the property. Tuesday afternoon I went into that area about 200 yards southwest of my camera with the wind in my face and set up under some oak trees in the direction I thought he'd be traveling. There were some fresh rubs around the oaks and I saw 5 does and a four point that was harassing all of them but that was it.

Keep at it man one is bound to slip up! We are in last place guys. We need some points on the board. Some teams are about to hit triple digits and we’re at 18.

Hopefully everyone is getting some action! I've been unable to get in the woods for the last couple weeks due to a family emergency that came up, but looking to get back out soon. Anyone seeing any chasing or rut action kicking up?

I've been out three times since my last check in with an all day hunt yesterday. Set up near a super active scrape in the morning only to see a few does then scouted my way south into the wind where I found a ton of fresh sign under a couple oaks. Set up around 1:30 and saw a 4 point and two does that came in just before dark. That may be it for me. Had a lot of promise coming into the season but it hasn't panned out. We'll see what the next couple weeks have in store. Apologies for the likely zero.

It’s all good man. It’s all in fun anyway. You never know might end up going out and killing a freak! I need to kill 4 more to finish the freezer and make all the summer sausage I normally do. I’m going out Saturday morning with my son we’re gonna try and double up on some does. Hopefully everyone else’s season is going good!

For sure. Had some good experiences and have learned more along the way.

I am determined to get some points up on the board for us this weekend. I've passed up on a couple of decent 8 point so far this year, but the freezer is getting a bit thin now. Coming up this weekend, if I've got an opportunity to my if it's a brown it's down.

Been quiet over here. Has anybody had better luck than me? Last weekend I had a buck chasing a doe come in under me, but they came through so fast I never had a shot. Rain and wind kicked up not long after. Today, I how's walking in, and had a few does and a buck that blocked my way in. Good range, but too dark to get a shot. Ended up being tied up for over an hour- blew my dark walk in, and then the rain started again. Hope to try again tonight.

I'm regretting passing up the couple bucks I had earlier on in the season. Been getting skunked the last few weeks. Hoping the last long Thanksgiving weekend will help me get some longer sits in.

I’ve been wrong every time I think I know where a buck should be bedded this season but yesterday I found this bed and I’d be super surprised if it wasn’t occupied on the northwest wind we are supposed to have tomorrow. We’ll find out in about 24 hours...D016F224-273D-4366-8DAC-2E5C370E28A1.jpeg
