TEAM 1 THREAD

Just added five points to our total in the submission thread. https://saddlehunter.com/community/...2-contest-submission-thread.48280/post-669991

It was a great weekend at camp with my dad. I shot this doe 30 minutes after he shot a small buck.
I almost screwed up though. I knew the shot was back and low. She took two or three quick jumps then slowly walked out of sight so I knew she didn’t go far. Even though I kept telling myself to leave the arrow until morning I decided to sneak up to it and verify the hit. She was bedded fifty yards away and jumped up and took off. Luckily, even after a rainstorm last night we were able to find her about 200 yds from where I jumped her. I knew better than to go get that arrow but, every once in a while I just have to be reminded the hard way.

Also real happy to hear your Dad got one!

Congrats! Way to add to the team!!

Let me know how you like it. I'm kicking around getting a copy
Meh. It reads like Bobby Worthington talks. You’ll end up with no doubt which brand bow, broadhead, tree stand, and scent spay he uses, and in case you miss anything don’t worry, he’ll repeat it. He tells some good stories about deer he has killed and gives a small amount more of useful technical info about the way he hunts than what he has already said in the podcasts. Honestly I thought Eberhart’s were better by a smidge because he covered a broader range, but for the price of the paperback, it was a decent bathroom read.

That doesn't surprise me. It's a rare breed that can kill big deer, is willing to talk about it, and is good at talking about it.

Without knocking the guy (because he seems cool) he seems like the poster child for my theory that big bucks are more about location and free time than anything else. I know he hunts a good area and I know he works shifts that give him time to hunt.

And his wife hunts. Super jealous of that one!

100%. And he obviously knows how to do it in the right areas.

Enjoying a vaca in Hilton Hilton Head with the fam. Making me jealous and can’t wait to hit the woods. However on my return it looks like the hurricane will follow us north

We used our trip insurance and left our SC vacation early. I was excited to hunt Saturday but it looks like a wash. Looks like Monday it is, hopefully! Plan to do a 9-12pm sit after dropping little man off at daycare and then a 4-dark sit with a buddy. Hope I can put 5 points on the board early

I'll be out in the rain Saturday AM. My in-laws are coming to visit later in the day so I plan on cashing in the return favor for helping my father in law drag out last weekend haha.

looks like they are punishing your whole team

Sorry fellers. On another note, went for a little prestorm motocycle ride this morning and had three does come across the road and then 20 miles down the road had a flock of turkeys cross in front of me. Never had that happen before in 5 years of riding that road so it would appear the critters are moving prior to the big blow tomorrow.
