Unluckily for this guy, he was the next buck to give me a shot. I watched him and another small buck push each other around for a few minutes while a spike watched them.

That’s a mean hike with a heavy pack. At least it was good heavy! Congrats

we got lucky. We had some family from down your way up hunting for the weekend. One of them happened to be back at camp just as we finished quartering dad’s deer. He drove around and met us at the bottom. Still wasn’t easy but, saved us a 1/4 mile and made the pack all downhill.
 
Another 8. So, in the end didn’t help us any and blew my last rutcation tag. Sure wish I could get that one back! Waiting now to get back to Virginia at the end of the week. Unfortunately, I think all I have back there is a few more 8’s.

Well boys I finally put some point on the board. 121 lbs doe. First, both with the 350 legend and with a gun from a saddle. Really needed to fill the freezer and get some delicious summer sausage and jerky before all the Christmas parties start.

a doe and a 45 point is all we need to take the lead. Go get ‘em!! :)

but seriously good luck. I haven’t been in the woods since the Saturday after thanksgiving. Starting to miss it. I need to make some time to sneak out this month before our archery ends.
