TEAM 10 Discussion Thread

Heck yeah, we got a strong lineup for sure.

Joe from State College, PA. This will be my second season hunting mostly from a saddle. Third if you count some dabbling the year before. I'm 31 years old and this will be my 20th season bowhunting. Been hunting mobile my whole life but it was all climbers until a few years ago.

Modus operandi I hunt big woods, public land, mountain laurel bucks. I'm looking to tie my buck tag on a deer I figure is at least 3 years old and I have a pocket full of doe tags. I consider myself somewhat of a rut hunting specialist and aficionado and plan my strategy accordingly. I don't have any good prospects lined up for early season pattern hunting but that's usually the case for me.

Our bow season is October 5 - November 16th this year. I have about 8 vacation days scattered throughout November. After that I am going to do a long weekend trip to a yet to be decided neighboring state, then our rifle season and late season if need be. A few maples and the black gums are starting to turn colors. We've had a couple crisp days mixed in with the late summer heat. The anticipation is really building, I can't wait to get out there.

Hey guys glad to join the fight! I can’t wait to get started but I’ve made the decision to delay my start until we get some cooler weather down here in south east Texas. I just about killed myself last Oct scouting out and climbing trees in 90+ degree weather. Not going to do it again.

They don't count the points til the end of the season so no shame in waiting. If they opened deer season earlier in AL I would probably be taking the same option.

Louisiana boy here. I will be hunting public land here. I will be taking out both my longbow and my mathews triax. I love the trad bow 10x more than the compound, but due to work schedule and just the way it goes, I don't get to do much in season scouting. I look forward to putting a few points on the board and backstraps in the freezer. When I grow up, I hope to be like DaveT. haha.

Delaware. Been using a saddle for quite a while. I typically use an old TL. Starting to play with the sit drag stuff. Most of my hunts are from presets but I just modded some LW sticks and getting ready to try the hand climber. It’s been hot so only one hunt so far. I’ll switch between traditional and a compound depending how I’m feeling. I’ll be in a tree this week.....maybe tomorrow actually.

My in-laws are in Delaware near Wilmington. Usually see quite a few deer when we visit. Hope you get a big urn, kbetts!

Oh....it's on now. Just found a nice lady that does canvas/upholstery work from her house. $20 to mod my sitdrag and it'll be done in an hour. Wraptor will be next.

Team 10 members. Going to do something I've never done. In Dec, any Team 10 members that would like to come down and hunt with me all it will cost is license and getting here. 100% public land. Tough hunting but I'll kind of take you through my hunting style and gear. I've been known to get on a few decent bucks ;)

DaveT. This is a HELLUVA offer! I’m going to do whatever I can to take you up on this. Although I’m having a child in March. Maybe the wife will give this to me as a Christmas present...

Hell, with where I’m at right now.....buddy leaving today for annual CO trip without me and the typical “I love my hunting husband.....until I don’t.”.....this could be a distinct possibility. Texas public ain’t no joke cause there isn’t a ton of it.

In fact....if time and location is an issue...I could do the same with some notice/interest.

First night in a sit drag. Not bad.

I'm pretty sure I'm listening to deer walk behind me through the marsh.

Daytime/close to evening pics about 150 yards away. Bedding is between me and a river. Standing corn though. Makes it a crap shoot right now. They're cutting across the road a mile away.

Once they cut the corn, I'll be inside that point. They've been moving from the corn as much as too it. It's hot, but a small spot. I wanna be more sure of the travel direction.
