I also have a 6:27am pic of him yesterday, going the other way. I think I'm close to his bedding!

I managed to stick a doe this past saturday on my ambush platform and DIY saddle. I didn't take a pic with my saddle, but I have pics before and after the shot.

Wisconsin 9 day traditional gun starts this Saturday so I’ll be out looking to get my limit. Plus we have group hunting laws so I’ll be looking to fill as many tags as possible between my dad and two brothers.

Heading out tomorrow morning. It's going to be raining all day, but the deer do not take the day off. Got a set up in a thicket I am pretty excited about. Found some really good sign on Tuesday but had to backout before I got up a tree (kid got sick and had to pick up from school). After the morning sit I will still hunt through the thicket with the rain to give me cover. May end up at a buddies farm for the PM sit over a green field we planted. Here is to a fun/wet day of hunting!

No dice. I'm taking off next Monday and Tuesday to go after them again.

Just shot a doe from the ground on public. Shot looked pretty good. A hair back but good and a full pass through. She was pouring blood pretty heavy on both sides. I know it was definitely liver but also probably back of lungs too. Giving her 4 hours.

I’ve already got two does in the contest and it was from the ground (although I was wearing the saddle) so it’s not for points, but it would be my first public land deer.

I feel good about it, but I hate when I don’t see them fall.

Success. Only made it 85yds. First deer from the ground and first public land deer.

Hung behind an existing tree stand on my buddies 40 acre farm just in case I shoot a buck for it to count for the team in the contest. #dedication
