TEAM 10 Discussion Thread

Firearms is finally over here in Kentucky. I won't be able to get back out until Thursday. I've always enjoyed late season in Michigan, apart from the bitter cold. Should be great here with the milder temps. Looking forward to the next couple months!

Heading out tomorrow morning on a piece of private permission property that has some quality bucks. This will be my first hunt on the property this year so they should be unpressured. Weather is not great, but the timing is getting closer to the rut here in Bama. It usually ruts mid to late December in this particular area so this will be like a late Oct/first of November hunt in the Midwest.

Was put yesterday here in Wisconsin for late season. Had 3 does come in about an hour left of light but nothing too big. Had a few walking around me making noise but couldn’t get a good look through the thick swamp brush. I have until the end of January so I’m still holding on to hope....

I have untill the 15th to try and get a doe. I'll make it out at least one more time.

I'm debating on if I'm going out anymore or not. I've got until the 20th, but with work I can only get out on the weekends. I won't shoot a doe after they have likely been bred, and I'm not on any bucks right now, so...

Decent sit tonight. Had a doe and a basket 6 at 75 yards but skirted me in the cattails and never came into my island. Heard another one in the brush but never came in. It’s going to be a race to beat the horns dropping.

Smoked a doe tonight with my 7mag. Combo of scouting my way in, reading sign, changing plans, prostrate using backpack as rest, being super mobile to circle a few deer I saw and then ultimately using saddle as a seat at base of a tree. Ended up having almost 15 does in range that I would not have seen had I not went mobile. I already submitted two does in contest so it doesn’t effect our score, but I thought I would share. With my old system I would never have been as mobile and would probably not have killed the deer.

I have until the end of Feb. Going out tomorrow to hunt for the weekend and probably every weekend until the end.

Yeah, my season is officially in the books. I had a nice buck on camera 2 weeks ago, but he was only coming by middle of the night. I decided Saturday I would give the card another pull, and if he was day light I would go out Sunday. He was on there, 4:30 in the afternoon... with no antlers. Oh well, he should be real nice next season!

I have barely been out in the woods & haven’t shot anything yet this season

I have 2 good hunts coming up here in FL during the first two weeks of Feb

So potentially can harvest 2 bucks & 1 doe to add to the Team 10 totals
