Way to go @CajunSlinger , congrats! That makes 3 of the last 4 deer submitted from Team 10 and moves us into a tie for 6th.
 
Paddled way back and sat tethered off the ground this morning and had a doe come by in bow range and nothing else. Slowly working my way back to the truck paddling along and pop into the woods every couple hundred yards. I thought I took an awesome video of 2 otters curious about me and the boat coming maybe 10 feet from the boat but I must have pushed the wrong button and didn't get any video or pic....idiot
I saw 3 manatees and again...didn't get any evidence...idiot
I sat the evening and had lots of wildlife..just nothing to shoot at...squirrels, dillo, hawks, owls and coons.
Caught 20-30 red bellies but let em all go...
Disappointed about the lack of deer but had a good day

10 more days....I hope to get to go hunt at least 2 more out of the 10. I'm just unsure of where to go to get away from the crowds. The base still allows does were majority of the state they are off limits so I guess that's better odds...they are just being pressured much more this year than I ever seen before.
 
Got us another doe last night. I was scouting my way through a grove of Holly's and finding good feed sign under the big beech trees that were mixed in. Spotted 3 small bucks feeding their way toward me from the east, so I stopped and was watching them when I heard another deer coming up the hill to the south of me. It was another young buck, he came over the hill and walked by me at 25 yards on his way to meet up with his buddies. Then I spotted 3 more deer to the north. Managed to hang one stick, and my platform 4 feet off the ground in a split trunk beech tree with deer all around me. The bucks worked their way past me at 20-30 yards and I thought about shooting one of them that had a cool split main beam/brow tine thing but decided against it. Didn't see anything else until sunset when this doe with 2 little ones in tow came right to me head on, got to within 5-6 yards from my tree and locked on to me. She didn't know what I was but knew something wasn't right. She stared at me for what felt like forever but was probably 2 minutes, stomping, head bobbing trying to get me to move. When she finally turned and started walking away I got the bow drawn shot her at 10 steps and watched her pile up. Feels great to make a good shot on one after the season I've had. Before last night I had shot at 8 deer this season and only had 2 in the freezer to show for it. Still have until the end of the month here, so hoping to put 1 or 2 more in the freezer and hopefully upgrade to a buck!

congrats sir! that's awesome that you set up with all those deer around. you must be a ninja.
 
Last weekend before hunting season ends and I am super grateful...first, that the wife is letting me go out even thou she's been a little under the weather and second, I have an invite to hunt private lease....Weather is supposed to be a little yucky but I'm optimistic...I might be good for 5 points after all....we'll see

Also...at the grocery store yesterday I seen a truck with a woods tree saddles sticker on the window.... Good job @Fl Canopy Stalker
.....just don't sell too many to the locals...u making it tougher to get away from the crowd on our wma

Thanks Weldabeast and good luck this weekend. It’s the coldest weather we’ve gotten this year so I am feeling pretty good about your chances. Also appreciate the window sticker mention. I am glad to hear guys are representing the brand.
And just so you know I’m targeting sales to guys up north and out west so that we don’t have to compete with the locals in those deep woods.:sweatsmile:
