I can totally understand not sitting in that heat for a doe. Our Ohio opener is this Saturday, and they’re predicting a high of about 70. If all goes to plan I hope to be up in a tree Saturday morning, waiting on a doe. Temp when I reach the woods should be about 50.I struck out Sunday morning. I went down south a couple of hours to some the family property. I haven't been there in a couple of years but I know it pretty well so I thought I'd have a good idea where to set up. Well, the neighbors did some cutting and it appears to have affected the deer movement on our 90 acres. Bottom line is I didn't see a thing. At noon I went over to another chunk we have in the area and there was more deer sign but temps were in the mid-80's. Honestly I just didn't have the heart to sit in those temps for a doe. Realistically if I had stayed and taken one I'd have been up all night Sunday butchering since I was already 2 hours from home and I needed to be at work early this morning. So much for early doe season. Now I'm waiting for Oct. 1st to get started officially.
Yeah I get it too. There’s a reason I did not take a day off earlier in the week. I didn’t wanna sit in solid drizzle for a whole day. I would’ve probably been cool with it 5 years ago but too old now. Go team old guys!I struck out Sunday morning. I went down south a couple of hours to some the family property. Sissy...u same age as me and I'm not oldYeah I get it too. There’s a reason I did not take a day off earlier in the week. I didn’t wanna sit in solid drizzle for a whole day. I would’ve probably been cool with it 5 years ago but too old now. Go team old guys!
Don't blame you.. I have almost 4.5 months in ohio so why not pick the better days..To be honest, if there would have been even a chance at taking a buck I'd have stuck it out. Because it was an early antlerless season that was off the table. I'm not built for the warm weather. If it had been 15 and snowing I probably would have been all over it.
Hahaha I know according to Florida, 40 is the new 30 right.Sissy...u same age as me and I'm not old
Drizzle is my favorite hunting weather lol.. hard rain and thunderstorms are where I draw the lineYeah I get it too. There’s a reason I did not take a day off earlier in the week. In Florida 40 is the new 20. Our state average age is like 65 I can’t tease any one about aging before their time. I’m 39 and already had to have a cervical disk replaced so my mind feels young but my body seems to disagreeHahaha I know according to Florida, 40 is the new 30 right.
Actually no. And technically it is because of drizzle. One of my siding jobs delayed because of y’all’s beloved drizzle and now I have to use the next 2 beautiful 70 degree perfect deer hunting days to side, caulk and paint. I’ll be after em this Saturday though. Drizzle or not I don’t give a crap!@philsanchez76 u still going hunting tomorrow? Hopefully it isn't calling for any solid drizzle....hehe
